It's concerning that management often allows experienced and long-serving staff members to leave for other opportunities due to issues that could be easily addressed. These valued employees may only be seeking a modest salary increase, improved working conditions, or opportunities for professional growth and development within their field. Unfortunately, the lack of support leads to stress, burnout, and ultimately, their departure. To mitigate this, management should prioritize implementing measures to retain experienced staff members, as their expertise, knowledge, and skills are essential for mentoring and guiding newer employees. By doing so, the organization can reduce turnover, foster a more supportive work environment, and ensure the continued growth and success of the organisation .

Let's do some calculations here
Contention between junior and senior nurses is a common challenge in healthcare settings, hindering effective collaboration and patient care. Senior nurses may resist junior nurses' innovative approaches and ideas, partly due to resistance to change or feeling too experienced to mentor. They may assume junior nurses should already understand certain aspects and if they do not, they are sometimes inpatient teaching them. Furthermore, senior nurses may oppose changes initiated by junior nurses. On the other hand, junior nurses may dismiss senior nurses' ideas as outdated. Additionally, junior nurses may come in with a higher rank, causing tension and resistance from senior nurses. To overcome these issues, we must foster a culture of teamwork, mutual respect, and knowledge sharing. By valuing each other's strengths, skills, and perspectives, we can create a supportive and inclusive environment that benefits both nurses and patients. Kindness, understanding, and respect are essential in bridging the gap between junior and senior nurses, enabling us to work together effectively and provide optimal care.

Happy weekend
Hey folks, I know you are healthy nurses, midwives or students but Today or tomorrow when you get to work, sit you down , call one of your colleagues, ask him or her to tie that blood pressure cuff around your arm, point that thermometer to your forehead and that oximeter to your finger, give you a wee prick on your finger and squeeze blood sample into that glucometer just as you do for others all the time. You deserve to know your baseline as well. Do not let anything take you by surprise fellow health workers
