Should your lashes be the main event… or should they finish the look?

One of the most important questions I ask my clients during a consultation is:

“What kind of look do you normally want your lashes to go with?”

And another one that might seem completely unrelated:

“Do you fill your brows in darker when you wear makeup?”

Because it matters.

Your lashes need to match the energy of your brows, your makeup and your overall features.

If you have very soft, light brows and suddenly we put a super dark, dense lash set on you, your eyes can become completely dominated by the lashes.

And that's one of my biggest pet peeves.

I don't want someone to look at my client and think:

“WOW, look at those lashes.”

I want them to think:

“Oohhh, you look GOOD. What have you done differently?”

There's a difference.

A beautiful lash set doesn't necessarily have to be natural either. You can have length, volume, wisps and drama, it just needs to make sense with YOU.

Your brows.
Your eyes.
Your makeup.
Your features.
Your style.

Everything should work together.

For me, lashes are there to finish the look, not steal the spotlight.

✨ Every lash set is completely customised. ✨

Not just to what my client thinks she wants but to what her eyes, natural lashes and features can actually suit.

Sometimes a client comes in and doesn’t quite know how to explain the look she has in her head… and that’s where I come in.

I listen to everything she’s telling me, pick out the important details and translate it into a lash map that works for HER.

For this lovely client, the brief was:

✨ Long & wispy
✨ Some volume
✨ But nothing too crazy
✨ And remember… these were her first ever lashes!

So we created length without overwhelming her eyes, taking her up to 11mm.

I used spaced-out longer wisps, shorter wisps in between for texture, then added light, short volume through the base to give her that little bit of fullness she wanted without losing the wispy effect.

The result? Long, textured and wispy with just enough volume but still soft enough for a first-time lash wearer.

This is why I don't believe in one lash map fitting everyone.

I'm looking for 2 Nano Brow models for September to create some beautiful new work for my portfolio.

I've been a Microblading Artist for 5 years, and I'm now expanding my portfolio with machine Nano Brows, an ultra-natural technique that creates fine, realistic hairstrokes using a PMU machine rather than a traditional microblading blade.

And Nano Brows aren't just for women!

I'd love to hear from both men and women. For male clients, the technique can be adapted to create a natural, less structured brow that blends with the existing hair, ideal for filling sparse areas, adding density or improving the overall shape without looking like you've had your brows “done”.

Nano Brows can be great for anyone wanting natural-looking, fuller and more defined brows, particularly if you have sparse areas, thinning brows, asymmetry or simply want more shape while keeping the appearance of individual brow hairs.
