Story

As many of you know, our world was completely turned upside down recently when my son was involved in a serious bike accident. It is the phone call that every single parent dreads, and honestly, it makes you re-evaluate life! My son ended up on life support at the Regional Intensive Care Unit (RICU) at the Royal Victoria Hospital. He suffered multiple injuries including a brain injury, spinal fracture, shoulder fracture, fractured ribs, broken wrist, and punctured lungs.

When you are sitting in that room, spending every hour day and night watching your child fight for their life, you quickly realize that the staff working there aren’t just standard NHS employees—they are living, breathing angels walking the earth. The level of care, expertise, and genuine human compassion they wrapped around my son (and me when I was losing my mind) is exactly why he is standing on his own two feet and making a miraculous recovery today. They saved his life!

Now that he is home, I want to give back to the people who gave me my child back. I owe them much more than I am able to give. That’s why I am raising money directly for Belfast Health and Social Care Trust through REVIVE—the official charity for the RICU at the Royal Victoria Hospital. Every single penny raised on this page goes directly to that specific ward to fund cutting-edge, life-saving medical equipment and support the next family who walks through those doors on the worst day of their lives.

The target amount for this campaign is £1,000. Plus, with Gift Aid added by the government at no extra cost to you, your donation will go even further.

Thank you all so much for your endless love, prayers and support over these past weeks. I kindly ask you now to dig deep because none of us know if we might one day need these incredible angels ourselves.
