A new face to introduce you to at Belfast Skin Clinic - meet Dr Matthew Wynne, Consultant Dermatologist 👋🏼

With over 6 years’ experience, Dr Wynne brings a wealth of knowledge across dermatology, with particular expertise in complex acne and paediatric and adolescent dermatology.

He sees patients of all ages and treats a wide range of skin conditions, from everyday concerns through to more complex cases.

During his time as a Consultant Dermatologist at Salford Royal Hospital, Dr Wynne established and led a specialist service for patients with severe and complex acne.

He’s also an award-winning clinician and researcher, with his work recognised nationally and internationally.

We’re delighted to welcome Dr Wynne and his expertise to Belfast Skin Clinic, as we continue to expand the range of dermatology care we provide.

A hand that’s ready for the helm again⛵️

An avid sailor, our patient came to Belfast Skin Clinic after noticing her little finger gradually curling towards her palm. It was beginning to affect the movement and function of her hand, including when sailing.

During a consultation, Mr Gareth Price, Consultant Plastic Surgeon, assessed the hand, diagnosed Dupuytren’s contracture and talked through the treatment options. He also took the time to understand how the condition was affecting the patient and what a good outcome would look like.

Following this assessment, Mr Price recommended a fasciectomy to release the thickened tissue and restore movement.

He also recommended three sessions of hand physiotherapy with Mrs Janey Milligan, Consultant Hand Therapist, to support recovery and restore function following surgery.

With full hand function restored, this patient is now back to smooth sailing ✨

Over the next 12 months, we are proud to be supporting Cancer Fund for Children as our chosen charity partner 💛

The charity provides vital support to children, young people and families affected by cancer, helping them through some of the most difficult times in their lives.

To kick-start our fundraising efforts, our Managing Director, Marie McGrady, will be taking on Rory's Miles to Mayo.

From 12th-20th September, Marie will join Rory Best and a team of business leaders to walk an incredible 235 miles in just 9 days - the equivalent of 9 marathons - travelling across Ireland in support of Cancer Fund for Children.
Over the next year, we'll be setting ourselves challenges, organising fundraising events and bringing our team together to raise vital funds and support the important work they do.

We hope you'll follow along, support our fundraising efforts and join us in making a difference for children and families affected by cancer.
