Is Nail Surgery painful? 🦶
The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic, so your toe will be completely numb during treatment. Whilst the injection may sting briefly, you should not feel pain during the procedure itself. Once the anaesthetic wears off, it's normal to experience some tenderness, which is usually well managed with simple pain relief and following your aftercare instructions.

Will my whole toenail be removed? 🦶
Usually not. In most cases, only the section of nail causing the problem is removed. This leaves you with a slightly narrower nail that still looks natural while permanently treating the ingrown edge.

How successful is Nail Surgery? 🦶
Nail Surgery is considered the gold standard treatment for recurring ingrown toenails and has an approximate 95% success rate. Whilst no treatment can guarantee success, most patients experience permanent relief from their symptoms.

How long does recovery take? 🦶
Most people return to normal daily activities within a few days, although complete healing usually takes several weeks. We'll arrange your dressing appointments and monitor your recovery until your toe has healed.
