Robo-Polly 😆
After 3 tumbles in as many days I wasn’t taking any chances and got elbow/knee guards. I’m literally terrified right now.
So I also wore a wristband:
“Brake = Unclip”
A visual cue should help to lock this into my brain until it becomes automatic.
Only did 8km but no falls today.
14 days to go to master this….

Rehab.
Less than 3 weeks to go until London to Brighton and I’m ramping up my physio and strength training.
Meanwhile….mastering cleats currently stands at

More Battered Than A Sausage!
Third fall this week…. I’m determined to master this, but I’m starting to question who came up with the idea clipping in was a good idea??? 🤷♀️
I’m only using cleats to protect me from injuring my calf again, but at this rate I’ll break something 😩 I’m literally terrified, it’s like learning to ride a bike all over again.
Oh and I cracked my phone screen in the fall too

Fear.
After stacking it twice on my first rodeo in cleats I’d started to fear riding and knew I had to get a grip of it.
So as I rolled out today feeling afraid of falling I had to keep telling myself to just ignore the fear and just do it.
45mins later…much happier and no falls.
Now hill climbs in cleats…whole different level of terror and only 3 weeks to get confident 😱

This Week..
Having to take a week out of training to let my calf recover was a worry.
A trip to was a huge relief though, with physio and rehab exercises I can still ride and, even better, it should strengthen.
But, to aid this and prevent further/ other potential injury, I need to be clipped into the pedals with cleats.
Today was my first go wearing them outside of the spin studio… I was doing really well, until I wasn’t!!
I’m going to have to really work on mastering this so I feel confident (and safe) by 21/6.
