The Hair & Makeup Studio has recently taken over from Beaux Hairdressing. Claire is a Professional Makeup Artist who is very dedicated to her passion of making people feel good about themselves. With this in mind she had a vision to bring a unique paring of Hair & Makeup to the high street and believed she could create 'The Hair & Makeup Studio' allowing clients to still continue to use the salon as a hairdressers as well as introducing new makeup services to existing and new clients as well as Claire's established makeup business running alongside. Our fantastic team of very talented stylists consists of Rachel, Holly, and Megan and between them they have a wealth of experience & knowledge in Hairdressing. Every woman always wants to look their best, showing the world the best version of themselves, here at The Hair & Makeup Studio we can help you do just that, whether you are looking to maintain an existing style or a complete restyle to a glamorous makeover for that special occasion. We believe this unique service will offer you an unrivalled 'feel good' experience. Now lets not forget about the Men, whilst you may not partake in our makeup services, you are catered for and very welcome in our hairdressing side of the business.
I have a new addition to the salon, say hello to my new fish tank. This will make your visit even more relaxing, there's something about watching fish that's instantly calming. I'll be introducing some more fish next.

Beautiful young lady in for her Prom makeup yesterday. I'm so pleased she didn't want me cover up her gorgeous freckles. We went with soft & glowing with lovely golds & bronze to make her blue eyes pop. Gorgeous ❤️

It's World Environment Day today. Thank you to you all for supporting the recycling of your hair, foils & colour tubes. We're doing our bit for the environment so gives yourselves a pat on the back.

As its Earth day today its the perfect time to introduce a new concept to my salon. I will be saying No to landfill.
I produce a lot of waste in the salon from hair to colour tubes & foils that just sit in landfill. Did you know that hair produces methane in landfill & foil can last over 400 years in landfill. Personally I think thats a shocking number. We can do so much with the waste that is generated so this is why I'm joining the green salon collective to recycle my hair, foils and colour tube waste.
Did you know they can recycle hair in 10 + ways from hair mats to soak up oil spills in the ocean & waterways, in gardening, architecture & so many more.
As with anything there is a fee to enable me to be more ethical & sustainable so there will be an little Green levy of £1 on haircut/colour appointments. I hope you will all want to help knowing your £1 is helping to take waste away from landfill & put it to good use.

Yesterday I had a little colour transformation, my client was a block colour all over & wanted to soften it. She wanted something similar to highlights or balayage but nothing too obvious so I went with foils but backcomded the roots which helps keep it softer & blends better. The colour looked gorgeous after.

I'm pleased to say, my new glass is in. Loving my new shop front, it looks so smart especially now I have glass. Also you'll all be happy to hear that's it's now a lot warmer inside as its all insulated now & I have better heating so it's going to be so much cozier for you all now.
