I’ve been performing and teaching Lip Blush for over 5 years, so I understand the procedure, the pigments, and most importantly how colour heals within the skin.
One of the biggest mistakes artists make is choosing colours based on what looks pretty in the bottle rather than understanding undertones. The same pigment can heal completely differently from one client to another, which is why colour theory is such an important part of PMU.

THE SMP REMOVAL JOURNEY…
It’s been quite the journey with this client.
He originally came to me 3 years ago wanting a new SMP treatment, but he already had heavily saturated pigment throughout the scalp, alongside a thick, harsh band of pigment at the front hairline.
After talking things through, I eventually convinced him to begin laser removal with us first, so we could restart the process properly and create something far more natural.
We completed 3 laser sessions together. Although he chose not to fully remove all of the old pigment, we successfully softened and removed that heavy front banding — which completely changed the foundation we were working from.
Fast forward to now… this is after his second SMP session, with a third still pending. 👌
Personally, I actually love the look of SMP around the second-session stage. For me, once too much pigment is placed into the scalp and you can no longer see skin showing through, it can start to lose that soft, realistic finish.
My approach is always about creating a natural illusion — not a solid “helmet” effect.
The third session for me is usually less about packing in more density, and more about perfecting the result, balancing any areas of pigment loss, and refining the overall finish.
POV: you invested in yourself when nobody else saw the vision.
I started with barely anything… a single mum, taking a risk on myself, determined to build a career that could change not only my life — but other people’s confidence too.
What started as a passion for SMP & PMU turned into a clinic… and now an academy helping others create freedom, income & purpose through this industry.
