🏃‍♀️Figured I’d share a little update on my HYROX journey! 💪

As most of you know, I’m very much an “I’ll sign up first and figure it out later” kind of person. Sometimes that works out… other times I’m left wondering, what was I thinking?! 🤣🫠

Signing up for HYROX in October definitely falls into that second category. I thought, “Yeah, I can do that,” without really thinking about the amount of training it would take to get there.

This week, though, I decided it’s time to take it seriously.

Yesterday I hit a new 5K PB for this year in 34 minutes! 🎉 Considering I’ve only just got back into running, I’m really happy with that and it’s nice to see the progress already.

Today I tackled a HYROX-style circuit to start preparing myself mentally and physically. A good friend at the gym gave me the pep talk I needed and said, “Come on Em, you can do this. You just need to build up the longer runs between each station.”

So I upped the runs to 3 minutes between every station… and I can safely say I now resemble a beetroot after that session! 😂🥵 I genuinely thought my heart was going to explode, but I got it done.

Slow and steady, I’ll get there. The only person I’m competing with is myself, and every session is a step closer to that start line. 💪

From now until October, I’m taking this seriously… so it’s T-total Emma for the foreseeable, with just one day off for Prodigy Festival. Priorities, right? 🤣🍻
