We're at Burbage farmers market tomorrow.

If you're visiting and wondering what you'll find on our stall, here's a quick look:

🧼 Soap
🛁 Bath bombs
🧂 Bath salts
🚿 Shower steamers
🌿 Face masks
🏠 Wax melts

All of our soaps are made from scratch using the cold process method, which means they spend weeks curing before they're ready to use. It's not the quickest way to make soap, but neither is knitting your own parachute.

Some bars contain ingredients exactly as they sound. Oat Bar contains real oats. Bean Bar contains real coffee. The naming committee was clearly feeling bold that day.

Everything is made in small batches, tested properly, and intended to be used. No saving it for a special occasion. Tuesday is a perfectly good day for nice soap.

Come and say hello if you're at Burbage Farmers' Market tomorrow. Have a sniff of everything. Ask questions. Admire the self-control of anyone who leaves without buying another wax melt.

📍 Burbage Farmers' Market - 8:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Methodist Church car park on Windsor Street (LE10 2EF

A few new bars making their way onto the website next week.

Oat, Bean, Coal. No complicated promises, no miracle claims, no life-changing spiritual awakening hidden inside a bar of soap. Just soap.

I've spent most of the last few weeks swapping between the soap bench, hospital corridors, phone calls, paperwork and trying to remember whether I've actually eaten that day. The bars are ready. The human running the website is slightly less organised.

Orders will still be going out, but there may be the occasional delay while family takes priority for a little while. Thank you to everyone who's been patient, understanding and generally wonderful while life has been doing its best impression of a runaway shopping trolley.

The new bars should be available on the website next week.

And if all goes to plan, I'll remember my own name, where I left my coffee, and which day of the week it is at roughly the same time. That feels ambitious, but we're aiming high.

Growing up I always lived in a house that had both a bath, and a shower - but I've noticed from talking to people that showers now tend to be preferable to baths! So my question is this -

Do you have a bath, shower or both in your house, and which do you prefer?

Us? We preferred baths as kids, but as an adult theres no better feeling than getting in a nice warm shower and just planting your head against the wall for support lol

Did you know bar soap actually gets better the longer you leave it alone?

Not emotionally. Chemically.

A fresh bar still has water in it, which makes it softer and quicker to wear down. Leave it to cure properly and that water slowly evaporates, meaning the bar gets harder, lasts longer, and gives you a better lather.

So the irony is, the longer you don’t use it, the better it is when you finally do.

Which is great in theory.

In reality, most people unwrap it immediately like it’s a snack and expect it to perform at its peak straight away.

No judgement. Just facts. This is why all our soaps cure for a minimum of 6 weeks before going up on our website.

Did you know this, or have you been unknowingly speed-running your soap this whole time?

Fun fact:

Your sense of smell is directly linked to the part of your brain that controls emotion and memory.

Which is why a scent can change your mood almost instantly.

Studies show fragrance can influence stress levels, brain activity, and even how alert or calm you feel. [1]

Citrus scents tend to feel brighter.
Lavender leans calmer.
Peppermint can make you feel more awake.

Not magic. Just biology.

Which explains why one room can feel fine… and another just feels better.

Three soaps. Three moods. No life plan required.

Crisp – left, loud, and wide awake before you are 🍎 Juicy red apple with green notes, a bit of peach and orange. Fresh enough to make you feel like you’ve got your life together (briefly).

Cool – middle, pretending to be chill but actually doing a lot 🍋 Pink lemonade, fizzy citrus, clean without being boring. The “I’ll deal with it after a shower” scent.

Tart – right, slightly deeper, a bit more composed 🍓 Rhubarb marmalade with orange and apple, softened with violet and grounded with cedarwood and vanilla. Smells like you’ve made a sensible decision for once.

They smell good. They look good.

They are still soap. Please don’t eat them 🚫

Currently curing and will be ready at the end of May.

We worked with Bloom & Brave on our logo redesign, website audit and hosting.

They’re the kind of people who make things look easy, which is annoying because you know full well it isn’t. But everything was handled properly, quickly, and without turning it into a three-act drama.

They took what was in my head, made sense of it, and quietly got things where they needed to be. Including moving domains and hosting without anything breaking, which frankly feels like witchcraft.

We’re quite deliberate about who we work with. If it doesn’t align with how we run things, it’s a no. Not a “maybe”, not a “let’s see”, just a quiet no and we carry on.

This came through afterwards.

It’s easy to assume you’re just over here making soap and minding your own business, but apparently there’s a bit more ripple effect than that. Rude, honestly.

None of it is dramatic. No big gestures. Just a lot of small, sensible decisions stacking up into something genuinely useful elsewhere.

We’ll take that.

I don’t know what it is about spring, but it convinces you that hoovering will fix everything.

Like suddenly the floors matter.
The corners matter.
Even that bit you’ve been ignoring for months… matters.

So you hoover.

And then it smells like… warm hoover.

Which is not the reward you were hoping for.

These hoover discs fix that bit.

Pop one in and it actually smells clean. Not artificial, not overpowering, just… like you’ve done something productive with your life for five minutes.

They’re on the website now if you’ve also been personally attacked by the sudden urge to sort your house out.
