This was her second tattoo, and honestly… one I’ll never forget. She chose “On The Wild Roads” — a title from a book her mum gifted her, one they shared and read together. Such a simple phrase, but it carries a lifetime of memories, love, and connection.

She’s been going through a really difficult time with her health, and recently lost her mum, yet she came in with so much strength and warmth. Truly inspiring to sit with.

It’s moments like this that remind me tattooing is so much more than ink — it’s storytelling, healing, and holding onto the people and memories that shape us.

Before she left she said “mom the next time I see you we’ll both be on the wild roads” 😭😭😭

My client already had naturally full lips, but the borders were a little undefined, especially through the cupid’s bow and lower lip. So we created a deeper, more sculpted outline and blended it into a softer rosy tone through the centre.
