✅ Eurocentric beauty standards: Straight and loosely textured hair has long been treated as the “default” in beauty, fashion, and media, leaving Afro hair misunderstood or undervalued.
✅ Lack of education and training: Many salons, brands, and professionals aren’t fully trained in caring for textured hair, meaning fewer experts, fewer services, and less confidence in representation.
