Not every product that goes viral deserves a place in your haircare routine… 👀
As a scalp specialist, I see people spending hundreds of pounds on products that promise miracle results, when in reality, healthy hair starts with understanding your scalp.
This doesn’t mean these products are always bad — it means they’re often marketed as the solution when the real cause of your concerns could be hormones, genetics, nutrition, stress, medication or an underlying scalp condition.
I’d rather you spend your money on products that are right for your scalp than chase the latest trend.
💬 Which one surprised you the most? Or is there a viral hair product you think is completely overhyped? Let me know in the comments!
Save this post for the next time you’re tempted by a “miracle” hair product.

LED light therapy isn’t just about lying under a pretty glow — it’s about wavelength precision.
If you’re booking this treatment in clinic or considering a home mask, the wavelengths must hit clinically effective ranges (measured in nanometres, nm) or you’re simply not reaching the level needed for true cellular repair.
Red light (around 630–660nm) supports collagen production and skin healing.
Near-infrared (around 830–850nm) works deeper, targeting inflammation, tissue repair and creating the optimal environment for healthy hair growth.
Anything outside of these ranges? You’re likely getting surface-level results at best — and wasting your time at worst.
This is why not all LED devices are created equal.
We don’t follow trends… we follow science.
Exactly why I choose Celluma — clinically backed wavelengths, medical-grade technology, and results that actually go beyond the surface.

Here’s what I always check first👇🏼
• Double cleansing – first wash removes oil and buildup, second wash lets your shampoo actually treat the scalp.
• Air-drying – never air dry, EVER! Thoroughly blow dry the roots and lengths.
• Never sleep with wet hair – trapped moisture can speed up oil production and create scalp fungus (malessezia).
• Touching your hair – hands transfer oil and dirt straight onto the scalp.
• Product placement – conditioners, styling creams or dry shampoo on the scalp can cause buildup.
Sometimes the cause goes deeper: hard water, hormones, gut imbalances, diet, medication, or genetics.
The biggest mistake I see? Choosing shampoo for your hair type, not your scalp type.
If your scalp gets oily quickly, it’s often a sign the scalp barrier needs balancing — something we specialise in at The Skin & Scalp Sanctuary.
