What are they? Often known as Botox, these injections relax muscles to dramatically reduce wrinkles. One of the UK’s most popular cosmetic treatments, this procedure can be done on a lunch break and requires no anaesthesia or recovery time. By weakening hyperactive facial muscles that crease the face, this simple procedure produces youthful results by smoothing out the skin over a period of 14 days. The muscles relax with the use of a very fine-needled injection; the effect usually lasts about 3-4 months and is repeated when needed. Who are they for? Anyone who wishes to reduce the appearance of frown lines between the eyebrows, horizontal forehead lines and ‘crows feet’ around the eyes. When we talk about lower-face treatments, it can be difficult to understand what they actually do. The changes are often subtle, and photographs don’t always tell the whole story.
So I thought I’d make the comparison a little easier.
