A back facial uses many of the same techniques as a facial for your face, but it's focused on the skin on your back, which is prone to clogged pores, acne, dryness, and rough texture.
Here's why each part can be beneficial:
Steam: Helps soften the skin and loosen oil, sweat, and debris trapped in pores, making cleansing and extractions easier.
Microdermabrasion: Exfoliates dead skin cells from the back, helping to smooth rough patches and improve skin texture. It may also help reduce the appearance of mild acne marks over time.
Clay mask: Draws out excess oil and impurities from pores. This can be especially helpful if you experience "bacne" (back acne) or oily skin.
Massage with oils: Relieves muscle tension in the back and shoulders while helping moisturize the skin. Many people find this to be the most relaxing part of the treatment.
SPF application: If your back will be exposed to sunlight afterward, sunscreen helps protect the freshly treated skin from UV damage, which can worsen pigmentation and increase skin cancer risk.
