A crackdown against illegal barbers has started across the country, with the police raiding several barbers that were suspected of being fronts for criminal gangs.

Our chief executive Gareth Penn was quoted in a BBC News article on this, stating that "the rise of illegal barbers has led to fungal infections, such as ringworm, from improperly cleaned equipment.

"This has a massive impact on legitimate businesses as they can't compete against those with few of the costs genuine barbers have."

We welcome this crackdown and are working hard to fight the corner of the legitimate barbers & salons across the country.

Friday 21st October is Wear it Pink@ Roy's Hairdressing. Everyone is invited to pop in throughout the day. It will run from 9ish to 7ish. Wearing pink is getting into the spirit of things but is not compulsory. Donations greatly appreciated. We should have some pink cupcakes available for a donation. Saving on energy costs in the shop with my newly installed hydrogen fusion reactor.

Well in the true tradition of an old time barber's shop, I carried on cutting hair through the power cut this morning. Who needs electricity?

I'm going to continue to wear a mask in the shop and ask customers to wear a mask whilst they are waiting. Masks not needed whilst in the chair.
