HARVEST MOON 🌝🍇
The Harvest Moon has long been associated with gathering in the crops, abundance, gratitude and celebrating the fruits of our labour.
This Month I had the absolute joy and privilege of taking part in my first grape harvest at Trevibban Mill Vineyard in Cornwall. 🍇
As a hairdresser, I’m very used to being on my feet all day, bending, working with my hands and, of course, using sharp tools 😂✂️ — so I discovered that grape picking suited me rather perfectly!
But what made it so special was being able to experience the journey from grape to glass. There is something incredibly grounding about getting your hands into the harvest, seeing the care, patience and hard work that goes into growing something, and then knowing that eventually it becomes something we gather together to enjoy. 🍷
And as we welcome the Full Harvest Moon, it feels even more meaningful. 🌝✨
It got me thinking about hair too…
As a hairdresser, I love the idea of using the rhythm of the moon as a beautiful reminder to pause, release, nourish and renew. 🌙
A full moon haircut can become a lovely little ritual — trimming away those tired, weathered ends, giving the hair a fresh start and taking a moment to care for yourself. ✂️✨
There is something wonderfully symbolic about having a haircut around the Full Moon — releasing old energy, letting go of what no longer serves us and making space for fresh growth.
So perhaps this Harvest Moon is a perfect time to ask yourself:
🌝What am I ready to harvest?
🌝What am I ready to release?
🌝And what would I like to nourish for the season ahead?
Feeling very grateful for my first harvest season. 🍇🍷🌝✂️
The Season Of Letting Go 🍃🍁🍂

Today I swapped my Hairdressing Scissors with Grape Cutting shears at the local Vineyard for Grape Harvest ✂️🍇
I absolutely loved being outside today enjoying Mother Nature & can’t wait to taste the w**e 🍷
Red w**e contains resveratrol and flavonoids (antioxidants found in grape skins), which can theoretically support your hair follicles in several ways 👀
Drinking red w**e in moderation can help with your hairy health ….
🍇Reduces Scalp Inflammation: Resveratrol is a clinically backed anti-inflammatory agent. A calm, inflammation-free scalp environment is crucial for preventing conditions like dandruff, itchiness, and premature hair shedding.
🍇Improves Blood Circulation: The antioxidants in red w**e help strengthen blood vessels and improve general blood flow. Enhanced microcirculation to the scalp ensures that hair follicles receive a steady supply of oxygen and essential nutrients, which promotes healthier hair growth.
🍇Combats Oxidative Stress: Environmental stressors like pollution and UV rays damage hair cells. The free-radical-scavenging properties of flavonoids and resveratrol help protect active hair stem cells, potentially elongating the growth (anagen) phase of the hair cycle.
Cheers here’s to good hair health 🍷🍇

Last week I did the hardest haircut of my 36 year career 💕
My beautiful friend Jo has breast cancer, and after chemotherapy her hair began to fall. Together, the decision was made to shave it all off 🙏🏼
Jo and I met when we were just 12 years old. We’ve grown up together, shared countless memories, laughed until we cried and supported each other through life’s difficult moments. Now, at 52, we’re still standing beside each other 👭
I can honestly say that this was one of the most emotional things I have ever had to do in my entire career 🥺
For 36 years, I’ve had people question whether I was encouraged to “better myself.” I’ve heard people say that their families would be disappointed if they became a hairdresser because they would rather see them become solicitors, accountants, lawyers or have some other so-called “high-profile” career 👀
Last week reminded me exactly why I chose this profession.
Hairdressing isn’t just about hair 💫
It’s about people.
It’s about confidence, self-esteem, listening, comfort and trust 👌🏽
Last week, I wasn’t just shaving my best friend’s hair. I was holding her hand through a moment she never wanted to experience ❤️
When Jo looked in the mirror, I wanted her to see what I have always seen. The beautiful, strong, funny and kind woman I’ve known for 40 years ❤️
My scissors and clippers couldn’t cure cancer, but they could help my best friend feel beautiful and loved ✂️🥰
After 36 years behind the chair, I can honestly say I’ve never been prouder to be a hairdresser 😌
Because sometimes, what we do isn’t just about how someone looks. It’s about how we make them feel. ❤️
Oh No Silly Me 👀🤯😂

It’s Hoods Up In Cornwall 🩵🌧️
After months of heat, the rain has finally arrived… 🙌🏽🙌🏽
And what a welcome change for our hair!
The transition from hot, dry weather into cooler, moisture-filled air can be a lovely reset. Increased humidity can help hair feel softer and less dehydrated, while the change of season is the perfect reminder to give our hair a little extra care 🙏🏼
Rain itself isn’t a miracle hair treatment, but the moisture in the air can certainly help bring back some movement, softness and life after months of heat and sunshine 💫
A new season is beginning — time to refresh, nourish and embrace the change 👌🏽

Not Everyday I Have My Photo Taken With A Cornish Pasty 🥟💚
This is my GREEN morning routine 💚 Drinking a blend of ginger, celery, fennel, lemon, and cucumber hydrates the body, provides a rich dose of vitamin C for collagen production, and supplies antioxidants that reduce scalp inflammation and nourish hair follicles from within 👑💫
