Tropic Skincare With Lara

I decided to spend this rainy Monday evening playing about with my Colour Palettes and choosing my Autumn products and shades.

So, are my tips for Autumn-ising your makeup bag…

1.
Start with skin, your skin is likely to be in need of more hydration and moisturiser at this time of year so give it what it needs!
(I’ll do a separate, more detailed post on Autumn skincare changes if you want?)

2.
Now is a good time to tone down the glowey, dewy look and introduce more matte textures. I have switched cream contour, blush and highlight products for powder ones and I’m likely to use a little more Mineral Foundation than I have been over the summer months when I wanted a super-sheer look.

3.
Autumn is a great excuse to play with eye makeup and a smokier looks. If your skin is warm toned, shades like Pebble, Kahai and Nebula will look great. If you are cool-toned, try shades like Baobab and Galaxy to make your eyes pop.

4.
Check your base shades!!
Our summer glows are well and truly fading by this point so check your foundations and concealers as though you’re about the buy them. Are they still a match or is it time to treat yourself to some winter shades? The Flawless Collection is my absolute favourite for getting this right, it’s buildable so I gradually change between 2 different shades while my tan fades. (Let me know if you want help with how to colour match.)

4.a. (just in case 4 filled you with dread)
You don’t have to loose that glow. I choose to embrace my paleness over the winter bit if you don’t want to loose your glow, Sun Drops tanning facial serum will be your best friend.

5. Go as bold and brave as you want with lip colours, this Toffee Spice lip glaze is about as bold as I’m ready for right now but Kiss Me Quick lipstick shades like Plumb Pout and Pomegranate Punch are perfect for a warm Autumnal look. I don’t have any lipsticks in my palettes but they are available in pans, meaning you can put your whole look into 1 palette if you want to.
