What do you do to relax on your annual leave? Me… dive into my neurophysiology course with a fresh mind of course🐴🤓🤣

I’m so excited to be moving into the next modules, exploring nerve impingement and importantly how this knowledge can further enhance how I can help the horses I work with.

This course is certainly challenging my brain but it is enabling me to think very differently and deeper about how a horses body works, the relevance of what I see out in practice and the significant impact the nervous system actually has overall on the musculoskeletal system and my role as an equine therapist!

I’ve spent my last working day today with wonderful horses and their humans 🥰 it’s always so nice when a new yard welcomes me and is pleased with my work. Thank you to everyone at Newcroft Meadows today for being so welcoming again and recommending me to each other 🫶🏻 looking forward to my next yard visit here in September.

First time since Xmas I’m fully taking time off both jobs 🤪. Defo ready for it! Lots of nice plans with the kids and a trip away with my farm pals pending 🥳 ☀️ 🍹 🏖️

Back to work Tuesday 28th July, I’ll still be responding to messages/bookings etc but response time may just be a little slower. My diary is full now until 14th September which is just amazing and apologies to those I’ve been unable to book in any sooner.

Thank you so much to every horse and client who enables me to keep doing what I love, your recommendations and support to keep growing my little business, means the world to me🐴❤️

Over the past few years I’ve completed various qualifications, thrown myself into as many courses and further education as I can find to enhance my skills, knowledge and practice. But my biggest investment in my learning has been developing my understanding of the importance of trust! Without trust, the qualifications mean nothing! Some horses trust immediately, others take time to trust the process and me as a therapist! Dancer made me really emotional yesterday. I’ve worked with her for a few years now and she usually needs mum on hand for reassurance. We’ve grown together as a team, she’s been an amazing teacher and I’m so proud of how far she’s come 🥰

One of the things I love the most about Wolds Equine Sports Massage Approved Courses monthly CPDs is learning new techniques to use in sessions and inspiration for new client aftercare recommendations and exercises 🥳

It’s going to be a busy summer looking at my ever growing list of new additions to Equigate resources library I now have🐴🤓

Northwest equine salt therapy has been roped in, to help me record the new resources 🙌 hope you’re ready 🎥 📸

When I started out as an equine massage therapist, I thought my job would be “massaging horses” and yes it primarily is, but the additional skills I’ve learnt along the way have opened up a whole new world of interesting and exciting things I’m able to offer the horses I work with.

Yesterday was a long day, arriving home at 7pm crispy like a 🦞☀️ and was eaten alive all day 🪰 🤣 but loved every second of it!!! And what an interesting day it was:

🐴 Suspensory ligament rehabilitation
🐴 Rib restrictions causing cervical vertebrae dysfunction
🐴 Laminitis rehabilitation
🐴 Stifle cartilage damage
🐴 Sesamoid injury
🐴 Tendon injury
🐴 Cervical vertebrae, hyoid and jaw dysfunction creating compensatory issues through the neck and shoulders
🐴 Fascial restrictions in the back

How did I help?

🐴 Red light therapy
🐴 Craniosacral therapy
🐴 Accupressure
🐴 Limb mobilisation & stretching
🐴 Massage therapy
🐴 Joint mobilisation
🐴 Myofascial release
🐴 Kinsieology taping

And a lot or TLC and love 🫶🏻

My working days are so interesting and I got to finish with the best hugs off the cutest little Shetland!!

Feel so grateful to be able to call this my job 😍

Proud to be a verified member of Equinnect and support the regulation of equine professionals to ensure your horses are receiving the best care possible.

My clients know I’m never afraid to say when I think something is outside of my competence. Sometimes I have worried if this may make my clients think I don’t know what I should, but I’ve realised due to my clients response in these instances, they much prefer me to be transparent when something is outside of my lane and refer where appropriate.

Why should horse owners care about the Veterinary Surgeons Act?

You might think it only affects vets but n reality, it starts a much bigger conversation.

The Government is proposing reforms because animal owners deserve confidence in the professionals they use. That means better accountability, clearer regulation and greater transparency but surely those principles shouldn't stop at veterinary care?

Every day, horse owners choose instructors, therapists, bodyworkers, coaches, equine-assisted learning providers, transport companies, photographers, saddlers and many other professionals.

Some professions are well regulated yet others aren't, so how do you know who you can trust?

That's where independent verification becomes valuable.

At Equinnect, our Verified Members have chosen to have their credentials checked before displaying our logo.

It's one more way of helping horse owners make informed decisions.

Trust is earned, not assumed. Look for the logo for peace of mind.
