I’m seeing an increasing number of children and teenagers with blocked pores, irritated skin and generally unhealthy-looking skin — and when I ask about their skincare routine, I’m often hearing that it’s based on TikTok trends.
Not every product or skincare routine you see online is suitable for young skin. A lot of these trends encourage the use of multiple active ingredients and products that simply aren’t necessary for children or younger teenagers. Overuse can disrupt the skin barrier, cause irritation and actually make skin problems worse.
Remember, these trends are often designed to sell products — not necessarily to protect your skin.
Children and teen skin needs simple, gentle and appropriate care, not a 10-step routine. 💙
