Did you know that 5th September is International Day of Charity?

There’s a saying that “charity starts at home” — but my beloved Dad, who I sadly lost last year 😢, would have disagreed.

Dad was a true believer in looking after others, helping where he could and making a difference to people’s lives. I like to think I’ve inherited that quality from him. ❤️

So, in his memory, I’m asking for your help.

Between now and 13th September, I’m fundraising to create Tropic care bags for Springhill Hospice in Rochdale — a charity that is incredibly close to my heart and to the hearts of many of my family and friends.

Springhill Hospice supported my mum and our whole family during one of the most horrific and heartbreaking times of our lives. They cared for Mum and helped make her final days as comfortable and dignified as possible.

But their support didn’t end there.

They also offered counselling to my Dad afterwards, something he truly believed helped him through the final years of his own life. That support meant more to him — and to all of us — than words can ever express.

🌸 The incredible people at Springhill Hospice give so much to families in our community, and they need our support too.

My aim is to create at least 20 care bags as a small way of saying thank you to the wonderful staff and volunteers who give so much of themselves to others. I am also doing a care hamper for the staffroom.

So I’m asking: can you help me reach my goal?
