Reflecting on a fantastic day at Gain Inspire London yesterday in Trafalgar Square.

I feel incredibly privileged to have been invited to spend the day learning from some of the most respected leaders in global aesthetic medicine, exploring the science of facial ageing, anatomy, regenerative treatments, patient assessment, ethnicity and ageing, social media influence, and the future of aesthetic practice.

What stood out most was the consistent message that great aesthetic outcomes aren’t about chasing trends or quick fixes. They’re about understanding anatomy, respecting individual differences, taking a holistic approach to facial balance, and building long-term treatment plans that support patients throughout their ageing journey.

There were some fascinating discussions around regenerative medicine, the impact of GLP-1 medications on facial ageing, Sculptra beyond the face, ethnic considerations in treatment planning, and the growing responsibility practitioners have to combat misinformation online.

As an independent Nurse Prescriber, days like this are invaluable. They allow me to continually refine my knowledge, challenge my thinking, and ensure the treatments and advice I provide at Coast Medical Aesthetics remain evidence-based, safe, and focused on achieving natural-looking results.

Because learning never stops, and neither should our commitment to providing the very best care for our patients.

What a beautiful result for my lovely client ✨

For this lovely client, the focus was entirely on improving and rejuvenating the lower face.

Using a bespoke combination of cheek, midface, nasolabial fold, marionette, jawline and chin filler, we were able to restore support, soften shadows and create better structural balance throughout the lower face.

By addressing the areas that contribute to heaviness around the mouth and jawline, and softening the chin crease, we’ve created a fresher, smoother and more defined appearance without looking overfilled or unnatural.

The result? A softer, more supported lower face, improved facial harmony and a beautifully refreshed appearance that still looks completely like her.

Natural results are rarely about adding lots of volume everywhere. They’re about understanding where support has been lost and restoring it thoughtfully and strategically.

Last week I was invited by DermaFocus to attend the exclusive launch of Celora™ Vita at The Ivy, Wi******er.

During the event, Dr Xavier shared the science, clinical evidence and histological findings behind this exciting regenerative treatment.

One thing became very clear…

Who will benefit from Celora™ Vita?
Pretty much everyone.

Unlike filler, Celora™ Vita isn’t designed to add volume or change your appearance. Instead, it combines amino acids and hyaluronic acid to support healthier skin from within, providing the building blocks needed for collagen production, skin repair and regeneration.

The evidence presented showed improvements in:

✨ Hydration
✨ Brightness
✨ Firmness and elasticity
✨ Skin texture
✨ Fine lines and wrinkles

What impressed me most was the science behind the treatment, including increased fibroblast activity, increased collagen production and improved skin quality at a cellular level.

As a nurse prescriber, I’m always looking for treatments that are evidence-based, clinically supported and focused on long-term skin health.

I’m excited to now be offering Celora™ Vita at Coast Medical Aesthetics.

Because great skin isn’t about looking different.

It’s about helping your skin function at its best.

Rosacea isn’t just about redness.

It’s about understanding why your skin is reacting the way it is, identifying what’s driving inflammation, and creating a plan that supports long-term skin health.

One of the things I love most about digital skin analysis is being able to look beneath the surface and help clients truly understand their skin, rather than relying on guesswork.

This lovely client recently visited for a skin consultation and digital skin analysis, allowing us to identify key areas of concern, assess her skin barrier function, and create a personalised plan to help manage her rosacea.

Sometimes the right skincare isn’t about adding more products—it’s about choosing the right products.

With the help of evidence-based skincare, barrier repair, daily SPF and a tailored treatment plan, healthy, resilient skin is absolutely achievable.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. I can’t wait to see your progress over the coming weeks. 🤍

“What a star you are Jo, thank you for scanning my face and helping me see where the issues lie…”

This is exactly why I do what I do.

“I’ve always felt I had very fine lips, especially my top lip…” 💋

A sentence I hear surprisingly often during consultations.

Not everyone chooses lip filler because they want bigger lips. For many people, it’s about addressing something that has always bothered them, however subtly, and doing something for themselves that helps them feel more confident.

This lovely client had always felt her lips were naturally quite fine, particularly her upper lip. Together, we focused on creating a little more shape, definition and balance, whilst keeping the result soft, natural and completely in harmony with her features.

The result isn’t about looking like someone else.

It’s about looking in the mirror and feeling that little bit more confident in your own skin.

Because aesthetic treatments should never be about chasing perfection. They should be about helping you feel like the best version of yourself.

✨ Natural enhancement
✨ Improved balance and definition
✨ Beautifully soft, hydrated lips
✨ Increased confidence
✨ Still completely her

Sometimes the smallest changes can make the biggest difference.

Getting rid of pigmentation is one thing… keeping it gone is another.

One of the biggest mistakes I see is people focusing solely on the pigment they can see, without addressing the process that’s creating it in the first place.

This is where tyrosinase inhibitors can be a game changer.

Tyrosinase is an enzyme involved in melanin (pigment) production. By reducing its activity, we can help slow the formation of excess pigment, making it easier to not only improve existing pigmentation but also reduce the risk of it returning.

This is particularly important for conditions such as melasma, where factors such as UV exposure, heat, hormones and genetics can continue to stimulate pigment production long after a dark patch has faded.

It’s also one of the reasons the Obagi Nu-Derm System remains a gold standard approach for many pigmentation concerns. Rather than simply brightening the skin, it works on multiple pathways involved in pigmentation formation and removal.

And whilst treatments such as chemical peels and microneedling can absolutely help, the biggest improvements often come from what you’re doing every single day at home.

Consistent skincare.
Consistent SPF.
Consistent tyrosinase inhibition.

Because pigmentation isn’t won in the treatment room.

It’s won in the 364 days between appointments.

Struggling with pigmentation or melasma? A consultation and digital skin analysis can help identify what’s driving your pigmentation and the best way to treat it.

A little booking and cancellation policy update 🤍

As Coast Medical Aesthetics continues to grow, I’ve made a few changes to help protect appointment availability and ensure appointments remain available for those who need them most.

For many years I’ve tried to keep things as flexible as possible. However, an increase in last-minute cancellations and appointment reschedules means that protecting valuable clinic time has become increasingly important.

One of the things I find most frustrating is seeing clients wait 2–3 weeks for an appointment, only for a last-minute cancellation to leave a clinic slot sitting empty that somebody else would have gladly used.

To help reduce missed appointments and protect appointment availability for everyone, a booking deposit will now be required for most appointments. Importantly, this is fully redeemable against the cost of your treatment and is not an additional charge.

Appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled online up to 48 hours before your appointment time. Changes made within 48 hours will result in the booking deposit being retained, allowing me the best opportunity to offer that appointment to another client.

You’ll also notice I’ll be moving away from manually arranging routine appointments via messages. Most clients already use the online booking system and find it quick and easy. It allows you to view live availability, book appointments, reschedule appointments, cancel appointments and receive automatic email and text reminders.

Whilst I’m always happy to arrange review appointments and future treatments when you’re in clinic, using the booking system for routine appointments helps ensure everything remains accurate and up to date, reduces the risk of booking errors, and avoids the inevitable back-and-forth of trying to find a date and time that works for everyone.

Thank you, as always, for your support, loyalty and understanding. These changes are designed to help the clinic run efficiently, reduce wasted appointments, and protect appointment availability for all clients. 🤍

✨ What exactly is Sculptra? ✨

Unlike traditional dermal fillers that replace volume instantly, Sculptra works differently.

Sculptra is a collagen-stimulating treatment made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). Once injected, it gradually encourages your skin to produce more of its own collagen, helping to restore facial structure, improve skin quality, and create a natural, refreshed appearance over time.

Think of it as rebuilding the foundations rather than simply filling the gaps.

✔️ Restores age-related volume loss
✔️ Improves skin thickness and firmness
✔️ Softens lines and folds
✔️ Creates natural-looking rejuvenation
✔️ Results can last over 2 years

The best part? You still look like you.

No dramatic changes. No obvious signs of treatment. Just a fresher, healthier, more youthful version of yourself as your collagen rebuilds.

Sculptra is one of my favourite treatments for patients who want long-term, natural rejuvenation and are willing to invest in collagen rather than chasing quick fixes.

Interested in whether Sculptra is right for you? Send me a message or book a consultation to discuss your options.
