Going on holiday? ☀️

Don’t let your skincare routine take a holiday too.

You don’t need to pack your entire bathroom cabinet, but a few smart choices can make all the difference to how your skin looks and feels when you get home.

Don’t stop everything.

One of the biggest mistakes I see is people abandoning their skincare completely.

Instead, simplify your routine. Keep your skin clean, hydrated and protected. Consistency beats perfection.

Pack the essentials.

Your holiday routine doesn’t need to be complicated:

✔️ Gentle cleanser

✔️ Antioxidant (Vitamin C)

✔️ Moisturiser

✔️ Broad-spectrum SPF 50+

These products help support your skin barrier and defend against environmental damage.

What about your active ingredients?

Not everything needs to stop.

• Vitamin C: Keep using it.
• Retinol: If your skin tolerates it well, you may be able to continue. If you’re in intense sun or your skin becomes irritated, reduce the frequency or take a short break.
• Hydroquinone: Usually doesn’t need to stop, but only if you’re committed to excellent sun protection. If prolonged sun exposure is unavoidable, speak to your practitioner about what’s best for you.

Go easy on exfoliation.

Heat, UV, salt water and chlorine can all challenge your skin barrier.

If your skin feels tight, sore or sensitive, reduce or pause exfoliating acids until it’s settled

Hydration matters.

Flying, air conditioning, swimming, heat and even cocktails can all leave your skin dehydrated.

Support your skin with a good moisturiser, drink plenty of water and don’t forget your lips too.

SPF isn’t just for the beach.

The majority of UV exposure happens during everyday moments.

Walking to breakfast.

Sightseeing.

Lunch outside.

Driving.

Choose a broad-spectrum SPF 50+, apply enough and reapply every two hours when outdoors.

Enjoy your holiday… your skin should too.

Holiday skincare isn’t about having the perfect routine.

It’s about protecting your skin today, so you don’t spend the next six months trying to undo preventable sun damage.

Your future skin will thank you.

10 ml of filler for £650.

Yes, the price catches your attention.

But for me, that’s not the biggest concern.

My first question is:

How can anyone know what’s appropriate for your face before they’ve assessed you?

A consultation should never start with a predetermined number of syringes.

It should start with understanding you.

Your anatomy.

Your facial proportions.

Your skin quality.

Your concerns.

Your goals.

Only then can an appropriate treatment plan be discussed.

Sometimes that may include filler.

Sometimes it may include skincare, collagen-stimulating treatments or other options.

Sometimes the most appropriate recommendation is no treatment at all.

That’s what personalised, ethical practice looks like.

If you’re considering any aesthetic treatment, don’t just ask:
“How much does it cost?”

Also ask:
✔️ Why is this treatment being recommended?
✔️ Why this amount?
✔️ Is this the most appropriate option for me?
✔️ What evidence supports the products being used?
✔️ What happens if there’s a complication?

Your face isn’t a package deal.

It deserves an individual assessment, honest advice and a treatment plan designed specifically for you.

I’d much rather lose a sale than recommend a treatment that isn’t in someone’s best interests.

“I can’t use retinol.”

It’s probably one of the most common things I hear in clinic.

And sometimes, that’s absolutely true. There are situations where vitamin A isn’t appropriate, such as during pregnancy, while breastfeeding, or with certain skin conditions.

But more often than not, it’s not that your skin can’t tolerate retinol…

It’s that:
• the wrong product was chosen
• it was introduced too quickly
• your skin barrier wasn’t ready
• or you weren’t given the right guidance.

This is exactly why I choose Obagi Retinol.

It isn’t just about the percentage. Obagi’s retinol uses microencapsulation technology, which gradually releases the active ingredient into the skin. This helps improve tolerability while still delivering the benefits vitamin A is renowned for.

As a Nurse Prescriber with a Master’s degree in Health Science, I don’t choose products because they’re popular—I choose them because the clinical evidence, formulation and long-term outcomes support their use.

When I recommend Obagi Retinol, I’m not simply recommending a product.

I’m assessing:
✔️ Your skin barrier
✔️ Your skin concerns
✔️ Your previous experience with vitamin A
✔️ Your lifestyle
✔️ Your goals

Sometimes the right starting point isn’t retinol at all. It’s repairing your skin barrier first.

Because healthy skin will always respond better to active ingredients than compromised skin.

If you’ve previously “failed” with retinol, it doesn’t necessarily mean retinol isn’t for you. It might just mean you haven’t found the right product or the right plan.

Medical microneedling… what makes it medical?

It’s a question I rarely hear but it’s an important one.

Medical microneedling isn’t simply a treatment performed with a device. It’s a treatment led by clinical assessment, evidence-based decision making, and an understanding of how the skin heals.

Before I even reach for the device, I’m assessing your skin, your medical history, your medications, your healing potential, and whether microneedling is actually the right treatment for you.

Because sometimes the best treatment isn’t microneedling at all.

When it is appropriate, medical microneedling can help improve skin quality, stimulate collagen and elastin, soften fine lines, improve acne scarring, reduce pigmentation, refine pores and support healthier, stronger skin over time.

The results don’t come from needles alone.

They come from choosing the right treatment, at the right depth, for the right person.

That’s what makes it medical.

If you’re wondering whether medical microneedling is right for your skin, I’d be happy to assess your concerns and create a personalised treatment plan.

☀️ Has this heat got your skin breaking out?

You’re not imagining it.

Hot weather, humidity, sweat, SPF, increased oil production and touching your face more often can all contribute to blocked pores and unexpected breakouts.

If your skin suddenly feels oilier, congested or you’re noticing more spots than usual, it might be time to switch up your skincare.

💙 Obagi CLENZIderm is specifically designed for blemish-prone skin, helping to:
• Unclog pores
• Reduce excess oil
• Calm active breakouts
• Help prevent new blemishes from forming

Don’t just battle the spots you can see, treat what’s happening beneath the surface too.

Not sure if CLENZIderm is right for your skin? Send me a DM and I’ll help you choose the best routine for your skin concerns.

If you asked me which treatments consistently deliver the biggest transformations, these three would be at the top of my list.

Not because they’re the newest.
Not because they’re the most expensive.
Because they work.

✨ Medical-grade skincare creates the foundation for healthy skin.
✨ Medical microneedling stimulates collagen and improves skin quality.
✨ Professional chemical peels encourage healthier, brighter, more even skin.

On their own, they’re excellent.

Combined, they can completely change the way your skin looks and behaves over time.

Great skin isn’t about chasing the latest trend or a quick fix. It’s about consistency, evidence-based treatments, and a plan that’s tailored to your skin and your goals.

If you’re not sure where to start, book a Skin Consultation with digital skin analysis, and together we’ll create a treatment plan that’s right for you.

Does it really work?

You tell me…

Jen, Kaylee and I, all have big love for Obagi, the enthusiasm for the lash and brow serum is off the scale given the growth and health of all lashes and brows after using Obagi Nu-Cil.

No extensions.
No filters.
No false lashes.

Just consistent use and patience.

Like all skincare, lash and brow serums aren’t an overnight fix. Results develop gradually over several weeks, but for many people, the difference in length, fullness and overall appearance can be impressive.

If you’ve been thinking about trying a lash or brow serum but aren’t sure if they’re worth it… this might help answer that question.

Have you tried Nu-Cil yet? I’d love to know what you think. 👇

The products I choose not to inject are just as important as the ones I do.

Every week I’m offered new dermal fillers.

Most never make it into my clinic.

And the decision has very little to do with price.

As a patient, you’ll probably never see the emails I receive promoting the latest products, special offers or heavily discounted fillers.

What you will see is the carefully selected range of products I’ve chosen to use, and that choice is never made lightly.

When I’m deciding whether a product deserves a place in my clinic, I ask myself:

✔️ Is there robust, published clinical evidence to support its safety and effectiveness?

✔️ Is there long-term data showing predictable outcomes?

✔️ Can every syringe be fully traced back to the manufacturer through an authorised UK distributor?

✔️ Does the manufacturer invest in research, clinician education and ongoing product development?

✔️ Is there comprehensive clinical support available if I ever need it?

✔️ Does it align with my philosophy of achieving natural, safe and predictable results?

As a Nurse Prescriber with a Master’s degree in Health Science, I’m fortunate to have the skills to critically evaluate clinical research. That means my decisions are guided by evidence, not marketing, trends or the lowest price.

Could I improve my profit margins by choosing lower-cost products?

Of course.

But my priority has never been finding the cheapest syringe.

It’s about choosing products that I would be happy to use on my own family, knowing they are supported by strong clinical evidence, full traceability and manufacturers who stand behind them.

When you choose a practitioner, you’re not just choosing the treatment.

You’re choosing their judgement.

And that’s one decision I will never compromise on.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a client grow in confidence, especially when the results come from a carefully tailored skincare plan rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

Healthy skin doesn’t happen overnight. It takes the right products, consistency, and expert guidance based on your individual skin concerns, lifestyle and goals.

Thank you so much, Gemma, for your lovely words. Knowing that you love your skincare routine, receive compliments on your skin, and felt genuinely cared for throughout your journey means the world to me.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by skincare or unsure where to start, book a Skincare Collection appointment. Together we’ll create a bespoke plan that’s backed by clinical evidence and designed specifically for your skin.

✨ Beautiful skin isn’t about having the most products… it’s about using the right ones.
