Fascinating research being done 👣

The lymphatic system is one of the body's most important - and often overlooked - networks. Working alongside the circulatory and immune systems, it helps transport lymph fluid throughout the body, supports immune function, and plays a role in removing cellular waste and excess fluid from tissues.

Unlike the heart, which continuously pumps blood around the body, the lymphatic system relies largely on movement to keep fluid flowing. That's why habits such as regular exercise, staying hydrated, deep breathing, adequate sleep, and avoiding prolonged periods of sitting can all help support healthy lymphatic function.

Stress can also influence how efficiently our bodies function as a whole. When we're constantly in "fight or flight" mode, processes related to rest, recovery, and maintenance may take a back seat. This is where reflexology may play a supportive role.

Reflexology is a complementary therapy that encourages deep relaxation and helps support nervous system balance. By promoting a state of calm and supporting circulation, reflexology may help create favourable conditions for the body's natural regulatory processes, including those involved in lymphatic health.

While reflexology should not be considered a treatment for lymphatic conditions, many people choose it as part of a holistic approach to wellbeing, alongside healthy lifestyle habits that support circulation, recovery, and overall balance.

Healthy lymphatic function isn't about quick fixes or detoxes. It's about supporting the body's remarkable ability to maintain itself, day after day.

Reflexology treatments: gentle and peaceful brain wave fluctuations

One of the beautiful things that can happen during a reflexology treatment is a shift in brain wave activity.

As the body relaxes, the brain can move into calmer patterns linked with rest, peace and sleepiness.

Many people feel this during and after a treatment:
🔆 a quieter mind
🔆 deep calm
🔆 feeling sleepy
🔆 mental clarity
🔆 emotional ease

Research specifically on reflexology has shown changes in cerebral wave activity, associated with a high degree of sleepiness and sleep during treatment. This helps explain why so many people feel deeply relaxed and peaceful during a session.

Current research continues to explore how reflexology influences our wellbeing.

This is why many clients say:

“I feel so calm.”
“My mind has gone quiet.”
“I feel like myself again.”

Sometimes healing begins when the brain and body remember how to be peaceful.

Unboxed some gorgeous new balms. Songbird are my favourite balms to use, natural ingredients & the perfect texture to work with, leaving the feet feeling hydrated and fresh!! I re-ordered the ever popular lavender (great for sleepy time!) and delicious balance (does what it says on the tub!). These are the most popular balms in my practice. I thought I’d also try the tea tree & mint which I used tonight on a client (very cleansing and rejuvenating!) Looking forward to trying the zest, it smells like limes (& summer!). Which ‘flavour’ would you choose?!

Hormonal Balance

Hormones influence mood, weight, energy, body temperature and monthly cycles.

Reflexology Embraces Hormonal Change, Empowers Balance

Menopause brings strong changes, physically and emotionally. Hot flashes, mood swings, sleep changes, it is a lot to navigate. But we don’t have to do it alone, we can be supported.

Reflexology gently supports the body’s natural hormone balance. By working with key endocrine reflex points, reflexology promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and encourages the system to adjust with greater ease during this important transition, also easing hot flashes. One menopausal client experienced lots of sweating during the night and had to change her bed sheets every night. Even as a reflexology student at the time, this issue disappeared after a couple of reflexology treatments 🙏

Every woman’s journey through menopause is unique. Reflexology offers a caring, holistic approach to wellness, providing gentle encouragement for both body and mind to function in a more balanced way.

Ready to support your hormone health naturally? Let’s walk this path together.

Sometimes reflexology works on more than just tired feet. Sole searching has a way of happening when the body finally gets a moment to pause.

Have you tried reflexology? To me this is one of the most powerful healing methods out there, it works on so many different levels. It’s obviously my favourite treatment to give & receive. What’s yours?

It’s just occurred to me that I never posted this…almost a year since my Reiki Master training. Where does the time go? Always learning, always journeying, always growing.
