šŸ« Barber Client Education - Last minute cancellations and no-shows.

It’s important to respect your barbers time, if you need to cancel, try to give as much notice as possible. This allows the barber to try to fill the your slot.

If you don’t give enough notice or the barber can’t fill the slot. That’s lost revenue and it soon adds up.

None of us go to work to make a loss, we go to work to make a living.

This video shows how 1 cancelled appointment a day, soon turns into thousands over the year.

Didn’t quite make it to winner but achieving the top 50 (13th to be precise) in the country, I’ll take that!

Recently the barbering journey has taken a bit of a turn, I’ve been trying to showcase the work that is done behind the chair and also on getting myself out there a bit more.

Sometimes we get that focussed on cutting on a daily basis that before you know it, years have passed by and many opportunities for career progression have slipped through the net.

For some of us, simply being booked consistently isn’t enough in terms of progression. For others it’s exactly what they want and it’s each to their own.

For myself it’s about growing beyond the barber chair and seeing where barbering takes me.

Nights like tonight are a big part of where I want to be and the direction in which I want to go in.

So a massive thank you to all my clients who come in on a regular basis and trust me with cutting their hair, perfecting their crowns to walk out feeling confident enough to take on the world.
Your support never goes unnoticed.

Huge well done to Sophie Lux for putting on a fantastic event with The Official UK Hair and Beauty Awards 2026!

Last week this happened.
gave me the privilege of judging the creative barber of the year award.

What an absolute honour this was. For this I’m grateful to the entire WYHBA team.

If someone had told me 26 years ago that one day you’ll be judging a barbering competition, I’d have looked at them like as if they were on drugs.

Barbering has come so far in recent years. When I look around and see how much has changed it’s almost unrecognisable from what it used to be. Cheap haircuts, quick in and out, very basic shop, studying barbering was an add on to hairdressing etc.

It’s brilliant to see how much it has evolved as an industry and how much passion and pride there is in this craft.

To everyone that entered and didn’t get the win, keep going, keep putting yourselves out there.

Entering a competition allows you to grow in ways you usually wouldn’t.

Well done to all the winners and I’m already looking forward to next year’s event!

What a fantastic awards night it was, well done ladies!
