But genuinely, hand on heart, this is why I get up in the morning.

Not for the hair, although I do love the hair obviously, but for the women. The absolute brilliant, knackered, funny, resilient, chaotic women who sit in my chair and trust me with something that actually matters to them.

Because here's what nobody tells you about hairdressing before you get into it. Yes you'll learn to cut, colour, tone, style. Yes you'll develop opinions about heat protection that border on evangelical.

Yes you will at some point have a client fall asleep on you mid-blowdry and you'll take it as a personal compliment.

But mostly? You become part of people's lives in this quiet, lovely, slightly chaotic way. You know about the promotions and the heartbreaks and the nightmare mother-in-laws and the holidays they've been saving up for.

You hand over the mirror at the end and watch someone's shoulders drop about three inches with relief and think right, that's it. That's the whole job.

I've been doing this long enough to know that a good hair appointment can genuinely turn a week around. I've seen it happen. Repeatedly. With my own eyes.

So if you need your week turning around, or your month, or honestly just a couple of hours where someone else is in charge and the only decision you have to make is whether you want one sugar or two, my books are open.

When booking your appointment, please let me know exactly which service you’d like — for example full head foils or half head foils — as the time needed for each service varies. This helps me keep the booking system running smoothly and ensures you get the right amount of time for your appointment.
