was a lovely end to the day up in the welsh valleys, got some park time in with my girl and her friends, i am so thankful to be so close to nature where i live and the council have now said we will be getting a new park 🙌🙌 this is amazing news for the kids.

I have been back in the potting's creative zone, slowly each day i can feel myself healing and moving forward. it is so easy to lose yourself, weather it be in yours or someones issues or just being there to help.

I have been focusing my brain on my work and bringing the best braids or Dreads i can to you guys. The set i have been working on is all about the braids in time for the summer months, so with this in mind lets learn about some braiding history.
now i know this is a controversial topic so i am just going to go with what i know and have learnt.

The oldest known reproduction of hair braiding may go as far back as 30,000 years ago.
this is the figurine called Venus of willendorf estimated to have been made between 28,000 and 25,000 BC in modern day Austria.

although may cultures would like to claim braiding for there own, it really cant be dated back to just one, i would imagine it like the different version of a fairy story depending on what country or culture you are from.
Braiding is traditionally a social art. Because of the time it takes to braid hair, people have often taken time to socialize while braiding and having their hair braided. It begins with the elders making simple knots and braids for younger children. Older children watch and learn from them, start practicing on younger children, and eventually learn the traditional designs. This carries on a tradition of bonding between elders and the new generation.
