1-2-1 or 2-2-1 Personal training

Jumped into the circle mid IGYG burpees, not for me obviously, just making sure everyone got a bit more rest between their suffering 🫠😅

You’re welcome team. Just out here being kind and selfless like that 😬😂

This is why coaching isn’t just “show and go” 📋✨
Everyone processes movements and information differently. My role? Adjust, guide, and make sure that by the end of the session, it all clicks and yes, we leave stronger than we started 💪🔥
P.S. Lee decided to make up for the missed lunges… his own way. 10/10 for effort and enthusiasm! 😅👏

A lot of people think they are strength training...
But doing 40 to 50 reps with light weights across multiple stations is usually muscular endurance or conditioning.

And that is fine.

It is just not the same thing.

True strength training involves:

Challenging loads
Controlled reps
Rest between sets
Progression over weeks and months

It is slower.
Less flashy.
More effective.

Strength is not chaos.
It is structure.

We often think of health as something we’ll deal with later.
But later is usually more expensive.
Health isn’t just about how you look.
It’s about how you move, how you feel, and how long you can stay independent.
Investing in health doesn’t always mean spending more.
Sometimes it means reallocating what’s already there and choosing habits that quietly pay you back over time.
Strength training is one of those habits.
It’s preventative, not reactive.

Make this into insta carousel
Haven’t got time for the gym… or even for yourself?

Life is busy. And somewhere in the back of your mind, you know what you should be doing for your health. Because health is everything,
if you don’t have it, you can’t truly show up for the people you love.

“I should start exercising.”
How often does that thought cross your mind?
And then just as quickly… it feels like too big of an ask.

Here’s the truth: there is no perfect day to train.
And exercise doesn’t magically become a habit on its own.

You have to make time for it.

Sit down with your diary and book it in. Treat that one-hour session the same way you’d treat a doctor’s appointment. It’s your physical health. It’s your mental health. It’s important. It’s non-negotiable.

If things are getting in the way, ask for support. Speak to your partner. Move things around. Find a way to make it work.

Once it’s in your diary consistently, that’s when it becomes “a thing.”
That’s when it becomes part of your routine.

Don’t wait for a perfect day. Start today 💪🤩🥳

Belly fat after 40 isn’t a discipline problem.
It’s a hormone + stress + muscle problem.

And that means the old rules no longer apply.

More cardio.
Less food.
More punishment.

❌ That era is over.

If you’re 40+, your body needs:
✔ Strength training
✔ Enough protein
✔ Smart carbs
✔ Better recovery

Not extremes.

You don’t need to shrink yourself.
You need to support your physiology.

Your body isn’t broken.
You’re just in a new season.

Save this for when self-doubt creeps in.
Share it with a woman who needs to hear it.
Follow for realistic, sustainable fat loss after 40.

Walking into the gym for the first time can feel terrifying.
Not because you’re weak but because you care 🤍

I know that feeling of standing there unsure convinced everyone else belongs more than you do. I’ve been that person.

Confidence doesn’t come before the gym.
It’s built quietly through one session one rep one small win at a time.

That’s why I created my 1:1 free trial session.
Not to throw you into the deep end but to give you a safe supportive first step 🫶
No pressure. No judgement. Just a space to learn and start.

If the gym has been holding you back this is your sign ✨
You can book your 1:1 free trial via the link in my bio
or DM me “START” and we’ll take that first step together 🤍

January can feel heavy.

For a lot of people, it’s a slump month. Christmas throws routines off, food and alcohol creep up, sleep changes, and suddenly both body and mind feel out of sync. I’m no different. Everything can feel like too big an ask.

So what do we often do?
We try to flip everything upside down overnight.
Eat “perfectly”, cut all sugar, cut all alcohol, train every day, get our life together immediately.

But all that really does is shock the body again.

That approach doesn’t help energy, mood, headspace, or consistency. In fact, stopping everything suddenly can bring side effects you’re probably not ready for: headaches, binge urges, low mood, brain fog, and losing focus altogether.

A gentler, more realistic approach works far better for both physical and mental health.

Here’s what I usually recommend and do myself at this time of year:

Week 1
• Cut back on alcohol 🍷 🍺 🍸 (just 20% less each week)
• Start moving more (walks count)

Week 2
• Reduce added sugars
• Replace with natural carbs like fruit
• Bring balance to plate with vegetables and protein
• Commit to some strength training

Week 3
• Focus on 3 balanced meals a day
• Stay consistent with movement and training

Week 4
• Monday to Friday no alcohol, no added sugar
• Regular exercise
• You’re back on track

No extremes. No punishment. No pressure to be perfect.

Just small, steady changes that support your nervous system, your mood, and your ability to actually stick with it. 💛

Progress doesn’t come from shock.
It comes from consistency.

How often should you train at Buff Base? 💥
We get this one a lot — and the answer depends on your goals 👇

💪 Once a week – Perfect if you’re short on time, just starting out, or want to complement other training. Great for breaking up the week, shaking off stress, and staying consistent.
⚡ Twice a week – You will start feeling stronger, more energised, and proud of your progress. It’s enough to build muscle, boost your metabolism, and stay on track even when life’s busy.
🔥 Three times a week – This is where the magic happens. Body shape changes, confidence grows, sleep improves, and your mind feels clearer.
💥 Four times a week – A total game-changer. Build serious strength, improve fitness, and see noticeable results. You’ll gain momentum, confidence, and skills — while still having 3 full days to rest, recover, and live life.

At Buff Base, it’s not just about working out - it’s about training with purpose, in small groups (max 4), with expert coaching that pushes you without ever feeling intimidating.

What exactly is Functional Fitness?

It’s all about training movements, not just muscles. Think squats, pushes, pulls, lunges — patterns you use every day.

Instead of isolating muscles like in traditional gym workouts, we build strength, coordination, and stability together.

💥 Stronger core
🔁 Better mobility
💪 More power + less injury risk
