Noaem Skin
Doctor and pharmacist-led skin clinic in Hove, Brighton & Hove. Evidence-based treatments for long-term skin health.
BBL HEROic, MOXI laser, polynucleotides, skin peels and more. 193 Portland Road. We are Iki and Dr Chris, a Brighton-based wife and husband team with over 25 years of experience in healthcare between us. In our careers as an advanced clinical pharmacist prescriber and a doctor, we have developed the key attributes that enable us to provide all of our patients with a medical aesthetics experience that is of the highest quality.
We have both trained as specialists in Medical Aesthetics with the Harley Academy in London; the first training academy to be accredited by the Joint Council of Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP). Having qualified to administer Botulinum toxin and dermal filler, we both embarked on a full Masters Course in Injectables for Aesthetic Medicine. This course is the first Ofqual regulated qualification in injectables, ensuring we are both trained to the highest standards of knowledge and safety. Iki has a lifelong passion for all things beauty. Her pharmaceutical background ensures Iki is always critically evaluating the quality and efficacy of products used at Aesthetic BTN, from Botulinum toxin and dermal filler to skin peels and skincare. Dr Chris has a background in anaesthesia and critical care. His training in a heavily procedure-based medical specialty has provided an ideal platform for the transition into injectable treatments for medical aesthetics. He is experienced in the critical appraisal of both drugs and equipment, ensuring that only the highest grade products and equipment are used is our clinic.
Most skin clinics start with a treatment list.
We started with two clinical backgrounds and a shared frustration with how much of the industry runs on trends rather than evidence.
That’s still what shapes every consultation here: proper time, honest conversations and a genuine willingness to say when something isn’t right for you.
If that’s the kind of care you’d want for your own skin, we’d love for you to stick around.
If you’ve got questions about how we work, we’re happy to talk it through. 🫶🏼
If you’re thinking ahead to next spring or summer, the timing of the work matters as much as the work itself. Skin needs weeks and months to respond - not days - and autumn tends to suit light and laser treatments better than skin that’s still recovering from a summer of sun.
This is exactly what a consultation with us is for. We look at where your skin is now and build a plan that’s paced properly across the months ahead, rather than squeezing everything into the fortnight before a date. Starting now isn’t about rushing towards an event. It’s about giving your skin the time it needs to actually get there.
If you’ve got a date in mind for next year, now’s a sensible time to book a consultation and map out the timeline.

A reintroduction for those who have joined us recently.
We are Iki and Chris, the husband-and-wife team who founded and run Noaem Skin in Hove.
I’m Iki, an independent prescribing pharmacist with more than 20 years of clinical experience. My career has taken me through hospital and community pharmacy into general practice, before skin health became the focus of my clinical work.
Chris is a doctor who qualified from St George’s Hospital Medical School London in 2012. His background in anaesthesia and critical care has shaped the way he works: clinically rigorous, highly attentive to safety and always mindful of the person behind the procedure.
Although many patients know Chris for his injectable work, his role at Noaem is much broader. We made the decision to introduce BBL HEROic and MOXI together, following extensive research into the technology and the evidence behind it. Chris is fully involved in our laser treatment planning and the treatments themselves. We regularly assess cases and make clinical decisions together.
That shared approach is fundamental to Noaem. Every patient is seen and treated by one of us and the clinic’s treatment protocols are developed between us. There is no separate team of therapists and nobody is passed from an initial consultation to someone they have never met.
We opened Noaem because we wanted to create the kind of clinic we would choose ourselves. One where patients are given time, understand the reasoning behind their plan and never feel pressured into treatment.
If you are new here, welcome 👋 We would love to know what brought you to our page.

What does MOXI downtime actually look like?
These were taken one and two days after my own MOXI treatment, both before I left for work.
By day one, you can see some light flaking. By day two, the tiny dark MENDs are becoming more noticeable. MENDs (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris) are part of the normal response to fractional laser treatment. As the skin renews, some of the pigment and damaged material targeted by the laser is brought towards the surface, which is why these areas can temporarily look darker before they shed.
And strangely, I find this stage rather satisfying. You can actually see the process happening.
Despite how close-up these photographs are, I was absolutely fine to go to work on both days. I wore a little tinted Heliocare SPF and from normal conversational distance the MENDs were far less noticeable than they appear here.
The important thing at this stage is not to exfoliate them away. No scrubs, acids or picking. They gradually shed naturally as the week progresses.
At this point, I was keeping my skincare very simple and gentle, focusing on hydration, barrier support and daily SPF while my skin did the rest.
This is the bit of laser recovery we think patients should see too. Not just the before and after, but what the days in between actually look like.

A summer well spent doesn’t mean your skin is damaged.
After months of more daylight, holidays and time outdoors, it’s completely normal to notice changes in your skin. Pigmentation may look more obvious, redness can be more noticeable and skin can feel a little drier or less even.
September is a useful time to take stock.
For some people, that means returning to a consistent skincare routine. For others, it might be the right time to address pigmentation or redness that has become more visible over the summer.
The important part is working out what your skin actually needs rather than assuming everything needs to be “fixed”.
This is also when we begin moving back into laser season at Noaem. If BBL HEROic or MOXI is appropriate for your skin, we can plan treatment around your skin type, recent sun exposure and what you’d actually like to improve. Post-holiday skin isn’t damaged skin. It may just be ready for a little more attention.
