There's always a little moment before the first client arrives.
The treatment room is prepared.
The couch is ready.
Products are organised.
Consultation notes have been reviewed.
The kettle might even be on!
It's a quiet moment that often goes unnoticed, but it's one I genuinely enjoy.
Before the conversations begin, before the treatments start, and before the day gets busy, it's a chance to pause and think about the people I'll be seeing that day.
Every appointment is more than just a treatment.
It's someone taking time for themselves.
Someone trusting me with their skin, their confidence, their wellbeing, or sometimes simply giving themselves permission to stop and recharge for an hour.
After all these years, that responsibility is something I never take for granted.
Now, time to open the door and start the day.

Like many women, there were times when I blamed everything on menopause.
Low energy.
Interrupted sleep.
Mood changes.
Brain fog.
Feeling less resilient than I used to.
And yes, menopause can absolutely contribute to these symptoms.
But what I've come to understand is that hormones are often only part of the picture.
Our bodies are incredibly complex.
Inflammation, nutritional status, gut health, stress levels and lifestyle habits can all influence how we experience this stage of life.
That's why two women can go through menopause and have completely different experiences.
The more I learn, the more I believe we need to stop accepting that we should simply "put up with it."
Instead, we should be asking:
What support does my body need right now?
Because understanding that can be incredibly empowering.

Booking permanent makeup is a big decision, and asking the right questions beforehand can make all the difference.
Here are two questions I believe every client should ask:
✨ Can I see healed results, not just fresh ones?
✨ What does your consultation and aftercare process look like?
The answers will tell you far more than a price list ever will.
There are more questions I recommend asking before choosing your artist, and they could save you from disappointing results or costly corrections.

One thing I've learned over the years is that we often focus on the symptom we can see.
If our skin flares up, we focus on the skin.
If we're tired, we focus on the fatigue.
If we're struggling with sleep, we focus on the sleep.
But sometimes the symptom isn't actually the root cause.
Think of a warning light on your car dashboard.
The light itself isn't the problem.
It's alerting you to something else that needs attention.
Our bodies can work in a similar way.
Skin concerns may be linked to inflammation.
Fatigue may be linked to poor recovery.
Brain fog may be influenced by sleep, hormones, gut health or nutritional balance.
This shift in thinking has completely changed the way I look at health and wellbeing.
Instead of asking, "How do I get rid of the symptom?"
I've started asking:
"Why is it there in the first place?"
If you ask yourself this question and you cannot answer it or worse dont know what path to take to alleviate it then DM me to get more answers.

"I didn't do this for anyone else. I did it for me."
Those words always make me smile.
So often, people put themselves at the bottom of the list. They're busy caring for family, supporting friends, building careers, running households, and making sure everyone else is okay.
But somewhere along the way, they forget that they matter too.
Choosing to invest in your skin, your health, your wellbeing, and your confidence isn't selfish. It's self-care.
When you feel good about yourself, it shows. Not because you've changed who you are, but because you're allowing the best version of yourself to shine through.
The most rewarding transformations I see aren't always the physical ones. They're the moments when someone stands a little taller, smiles a little more, and starts to see themselves differently.
You don't need permission from anyone else to take care of yourself.
You don't need to justify wanting to feel confident.
You don't have to do it for a partner, a friend, your family, or anyone else's expectations.
Do it because you deserve to feel good in your own skin.
Do it because you're worth the time.
Do it because you're worth the investment.
Most importantly, do it for you. ❤️

When I first started experiencing menopause symptoms, I expected the hot flushes.
What I wasn't prepared for was walking into a room and forgetting why I'd gone there.
Losing words halfway through a conversation.
Reading something and having to read it again because it simply hadn't gone in.
I honestly started wondering if this was just how life was going to be from now on.
The more I researched, the more I realised that hormones were only one piece of the puzzle.
Inflammation can affect how clearly we think.
Poor sleep can impact memory and concentration.
Gut health influences the gut-brain connection.
Even Omega-3 levels play an important role in supporting brain function.
What fascinated me was that all these things are connected.
This wasn't about finding a miracle cure.
It was about understanding what was happening inside my body and supporting it better.
Many of my clients tell me they experience exactly the same thing.
The reassuring part?
Brain fog doesn't always mean "this is just menopause."
Sometimes it's your body asking for support.

Finding the clinic can sometimes be a little tricky, especially if it's your first visit!
So I thought I'd put together a quick video to show you exactly where to find me, what the entrance looks like, and where to go when you arrive.
Hopefully this makes your journey a little easier and helps you feel relaxed before your appointment.
If you ever have any questions before your visit, please don't hesitate to get in touch. I look forward to welcoming you soon. 💛

Would you trust someone with your face based on a certificate alone?
Qualifications are important, but they're only one piece of the puzzle.
A skilled permanent makeup or skin specialist should also have
consistent results, a strong portfolio, excellent hygiene standards, quality products, ongoing education,
the ability to achieve the results your looking for and that suits you
The right specialist won't just perform a treatment. They'll listen to your concerns, set realistic expectations, and guide you through every step of the process, from consultation to aftercare.
Choosing the right professional is about confidence, not just credentials. ❤️
If you're thinking about permanent makeup or skin treatments, I've created a free guide that covers the five biggest mistakes people make before booking, so you can make an informed decision with confidence.

A few years ago, if my skin wasn't looking its best, my first thought was always:
"I need a different product."
After all, I've spent my career in skincare.
But what I've learned over the years is that skin doesn't exist in isolation.
There have been times when my skin has looked tired, dull or more reactive than usual, and no amount of skincare was really addressing the underlying issue.
When I looked deeper, I realised there were often other factors at play.
Stress.
Sleep.
Hormonal changes.
Inflammation.
Gut health.
The reality is that our skin is often the first place our body shows us that something isn't quite balanced.
That's one of the reasons I've become so interested in helping clients understand what's happening beneath the surface.
Because sometimes the answer isn't another cream.
Sometimes the answer starts within.
I don't actually carry a handbag.
My trusty backpack comes with me everywhere, and if you looked inside, you'd probably have a little laugh.
You'll find:
✨ Business cards
💄 Lip balm, lip gloss and powder
🖊️ Pens
🩹 Plasters
💊 Pain killers
👂 Hearing aid batteries
🧻 Tissues
💰 My purse
🛍️ A plastic bag... and another bag (because you never know!)
🧾 An old receipt
🎀 A rubber band
It might not be the most glamorous collection, but every item has earned its place.
Being prepared makes my busy days that little bit easier, and apparently, I like to be ready for just about anything! 😄
Now tell me... what's the most random thing hiding in your handbag?
