Family of Hair Brighton is a hairdressing service by Mandy Kanapka in Queens Park and Hanover, Brigh I am currently using Milk - shake professional hair care .
I am a local hairdresser that provides a one to one personal service in a safe and relaxed environment. I have 30 years experience in the industry as well as barbering skills. Providing cuts and colour`s to all the family for the last 10 years from my cabin at Freshfield road. As I believe the hairdressing industry needs to get on board with making our products less harmful to our wonderful plane
I’ve been using Milkshake products a few years now & still love the shampoos & conditioners. 12 effects leave in conditioner is the don! I like to switch it up when it comes to styling products. I cut alot of kids hair in my neighbourhood so I wanted to share some pointers.
Before you book an appointment with me could you please check your kids for Nits at least 2 weeks before an obviously before you come.
These little critters love to party hard towards the end of term for some reason. Check behind the ears and at the nape thats where they love to hang out. I am unable to cut hair that is untreated.
Come along armed with your goal pics, our kids are native interneters they have probably seen stuff online that they have got their eye on. Bring your Tik Toks, snap chat, pinterest, insta pics just make sure its not an AI version. That way we can be on the same page before we start.
Plaits- If your child has been wearing plaits all day and wanting a blunt cut on long hair it is a lot trickier to get an even result, therefore I will need to wash & dry it. Thats not a problem at all ,but I will need more time for the apppointment and it comes with a higher cost, so just let me know in advance. The Same applies if they have come from swimming club.
And finally, lets talk neurodiverse kids, I have alot of kids in this catogory and I love accomodating these little people. If you could drop me a text beforehand to let me know I can make the experience much more suited to them, as in, turn the music down , use a weghted cutting collar to make them feel safe, not using a hairdryer, less chat and I can work faster.
I want them to be comfortable and enjoy the experience with me. It is there hair journey and it is good for me to build a bond of trust with your child.
