Be honest, which have you done before in a treatment?

For me when someone snores, it’s almost like an accomplishment and I’ve done my job 😂👏🏼 is anyone else the same? I feel like I’ve scored a goal or something 🤣

None of this is awkward for me, so please don’t feel embarrassed or apologise. I’ve heard it all, every week for years. And tbh most of these are a compliment and it means you’ve fully switched off, which is fab 🙌🏼

Even the cry is a good thing. it’s not sad, it’s relief. The kind that happens when someone’s been “fine” for way too long.

Posting on social media is not for the faint of heart. But boy has it been the best way to grow my business and find new clients, and keep in touch with my regulars.

Putting yourself out there isn’t always the easiest. The amount of times I’ve nearly not posted is crazy 🤪

But imperfect action is better than perfect inaction 🙌🏼

If you’re building something and the thought of posting your actual self terrifies you a bit, that never fully goes away. You just get better at doing it scared.

I was speaking to my lovely client about this the other day. The pressure of being 30 and feeling like you’re behind.

You haven’t had kids yet, you’re not married, you might not own your own property. And somehow that makes you behind?

Somewhere along the way we all started acting like there’s a timeline/deadlines everyone else is on and we’re the only one running late.

There isn’t one. There never was.

So no, you’re not behind. You’re just getting on with it in your own time, on your own journey 🤍

Protecting my room and the person in it, matters more to me than being liked, being fully booked every single day, or taking money I don’t think I should take.

One of these cost me a facial client. I’d do it again tomorrow because I didn’t have the treatment she actually needed on my menu. I could’ve sold her something close enough. I told her the truth instead.

She came back and not just for one thing, she trusts me with all of it now, because I was honest about what I couldn’t do before I ever tried to prove what I could. 🤍

I didn’t build this because I struggled and figured it out alone.

I built it because I was lucky. I had a salon manager who actually took the time to teach me properly, not just the treatments, but how to run a room, how to hold a client’s trust, how to build something that lasts.

Not everyone gets that. So I wanted to be that for someone else.
