You don’t always need to travel far to feel like you’ve escaped somewhere special.

Berwick Lodge is literally just 10 minutes from my house, and from the moment you enter the private drive, it feels like you’re somewhere completely different.

It’s a beautiful hotel and wedding venue, but you can also visit for coffee and if you’re lucky, cake too! ☕️🍰

The inside is absolutely gorgeous, and I have to mention the little details… even the hand wash and hand cream smell SO nice! 😍

Today, my mum and I enjoyed some relaxing time in the garden while Eric played. There’s a beautiful fountain, swings, a children’s playhouse, garden games, deck chairs and so many pretty flowers to enjoy.

A proper little local escape. 🌸

Just remember to call ahead before visiting, as they may be closed to the public when there’s a wedding or private event.

☀️ A WHOLE DAY OF FAMILY FUN WITHOUT BREAKING THE BANK! 💚

Yesterday was Mamas’ annual Fun Day and what a brilliant day it was!

The whole idea behind Fun Day is simple: give local families an affordable day out where everyone can come along, have fun and make memories together. Infact that’s Mamas moto!

There were:
🏰 Bouncy castles
🎶 Music & entertainment with a party DJ from
🎲 fun & games
🎟️ Pocket-money games with prizes
🍔 BBQ food & drinks
🎨 Face painting
☀️ Sunshine and lots of family fun!

It’s also such a lovely day for all the Mamas volunteers from across the different teams to come together, have fun and be part of something really special.

And this year, thanks to everyone who came along and supported us, we raised an incredible £1,882.51! 🎉

That money goes straight back into Mamas, helping them continue doing more for local families. 💚

I’m so incredibly lucky to be part of what I genuinely believe is the most amazing team of volunteers.

There’s coffee… and then there’s my little iced Delish Mushroom Coffee ritual. 🤎☕️

This week’s visit started with a very important delivery 🎨💛

Eric arrived at Katherine House proudly carrying a painting he’d made especially for Leanne and Sue. He couldn’t wait to give it to them, and Sue was absolutely delighted!

Then it was off to the kitchen for the usual biscuit haul (four biscuits… including, of course, his beloved pink wafers 😂).

Today Grandma June was having a very sleepy day and didn’t want to wake up, so while Eric enjoyed a few more biscuits, I quietly restocked her bathroom cupboards and sat beside her holding her hand.

Sometimes visits are full of adventures, and sometimes they’re simply about being there.

Before heading home, Eric made sure to visit Ron for their traditional handshake and a little catch-up.

Another Wednesday, another collection of precious little moments. 💛
