💔 Sad News In The Aesthetics Community 💔

I’m deeply saddened to hear about it the recent closure of SKN clinics, a respected and prevalent name in the uk skincare industry.

This is a tough time for staff and clients alike 😢 staff members left without a job and clients who have invested their hard earned money into skincare or hair removal courses left without a clinic to go to, and very unclear at this time if any refunds will be issued.

Having worked under the SKN group during my time at DestinationSkin this news hits close to home. I have good memories of my time there and hope all my colleagues from then are doing okay.

To anyone that has been let down by this sudden closure, I’m here to help. I’m offering

❤️ A complementary consultation to discuss your SKN treatment plan and create an ongoing plan to achieve the goals you had set out with SKN
❤️ A 20% discount on treatments within your new treatment plan
❤️ Valid for hair removal treatments and skin treatments

Aside from this if you have been affected by the SKN closure and have any questions, my DM’s are always open and I will do my best to answer any enquires.

Let’s stick together during this challenging time and continue to strive for healthy, beautiful skin. 💖

I have been guilty of this in the past 🫣 but that was before I knew the truth about hot cloth cleansing …

Why you shouldn’t use a hot cloth ⬇️

1. Hot water will disrupt the skins natural barrier, breaking down the protective layer your skin worked so hard to build. (If your skin feels super tight and dry after you cleanse, congratulations you have broken down your skin barrier😭😅 Book a consultation with me so we can fix this)

2. Product formulations are delicate and heat can cause certain ingredients to breakdown and become ineffective.

3. I know the hot cloth feels good, but when we’re in this routine it becomes like a game, every night you’re pushing the limits trying to take the cloth as hot as you can possibly handle. Before you know it your mere degrees away from scalding your face off every single night 🫣

4. The whole cleansing process becomes unstable and unpredictable when hot water is used.

Why you should use lukewarm water instead ⬇️

1. Lukewarm water is gentle and controlled, allowing you to cleanse the skin without stripping the natural oils.

2. Lukewarm water will not disrupt the pH level of your skin, which is essential for overall skin health.

3. Lukewarm water will cleanse just as effectively as hot without risking irritation or barrier disruption.

4. Cleansing with lukewarm water will help to reduce your skins oil production, because every time you strip the barrier away the skin goes into over drive trying to make up for it, resulting in an over production of oil.

So there you have it! 4 reasons why hot water is out, and lukewarm water is in 💃🏻

✨ If properly sterilised equipment is your vibe ✨

(I would hope it’s everybody’s vibe 😅😂)

ULTRASONIC BATH - This removes debris and micro particles from the surfaces of tools. High frequency waves are passed through a liquid to essentially vibrate the particles off the surface. Because the process uses liquid this allows it to get into and clean all the little cracks and crevices of tools. You often see videos online of people cleaning jewellery in ultrasonic baths and they are used on a larger scale in industrial settings for cleaning tools and parts of machinery.

STERILE POUCHES - Once tools have been cleansed in the ultrasonic bath they are dried, placed in sterile pouches and sealed. The tools are sterilised within the pouches using an autoclave, this allows the tool to remain sterile inside the pack until it’s opened for use.

AUTOCLAVE - Autoclaves use pressurised steam to kill harmful bacteria, viruses, fungi and spores. The high pressure increases the boiling point of water and thus helps achieve a higher temperature for sterilization.

This machine is my baby because it was one of the biggest investments I made when setting up my clinic. There were cheaper options on the market but I wanted to invest in the best possible sterilisation practices for all you beautiful people, you deserve the best!

I chose the Enbio Beauty Edition steriliser. Enbio usually produce autoclaves for dental practices, however they have recently introduced the beauty edition, which is the perfect fit for my clinic! I’m obsessed 🤩

Anyways, if properly sterilised equipment and an experienced practitioner who prioritises your safety is your ✨vibe ✨, you’ve found the right place ! My DM’s are always open for questions or bookings.

Thread veins take time but the results are worth the wait !

This is after 2 advanced electrolysis sessions, one or two more should clear the area completely.

When treating multiple blemishes it’s impotent to spread the treatment over a few sessions, treating 2/3 veins at a time and allowing them to heal fully in between sessions.

This means we are not going to overload the skin with heat which reduces the risk of any adverse reactions and allows optimum healing of each blemish.
