What a lovely week it was having Taylor with me for her work experience! 💙

As Taylor is interested in all areas of hairdressing we spent the week mixing things up and making sure she got to experience a little bit of everything.

We chatted about colour theory before getting creative with a holographic colour on Mariah, practised braiding styling and even had a go at cutting. It was lovely seeing her get more involved as the week went on and watching her confidence grow with each new challenge.

Between all the colouring styling and her trim Mariah had a proper salon makeover and Taylor did a brilliant job every step of the way.

Taylor you were always keen to learn, worked really hard and gave everything a go. I hope you enjoyed your time with us. Wishing you all the very best for the future! 💙

What a lovely week it’s been having Drew with me for her work experience!

As Drew is really interested in bridal hair and hair ups, we’ve spent the week setting her lots of different challenges to build her skills and confidence.

She’s learnt different braiding techniques practised using different tongs created lots of beautiful styles and every day she’s hopefully picked up something new. Watching her confidence grow throughout the week has been so lovely.

Today’s grand finale was a little bit different… a fake wedding for Mariah (the dolls head that Drew named! 😂) Her challenge was to create a bridal look using 2 braids, 2 buns and 2 curls and she absolutely smashed it! I even gave it the big ‘head banger’ test and all stayed put!

It’s honestly been such a pleasure having you this week Drew. You’ve worked so hard, been so eager to learn and it’s been lovely watching your creativity shine through. Wishing you all the best for the future I have no doubt you’ll do amazingly! 💙

Don’t worry… I’ve got aircon 🙌 so you definitely won’t be sat there melting while having your hair done!

Happy Mother’s Day to all of my wonderful clients 💐
Today can mean different things to different people. For some it’s a day of celebration for others it can be a reminder of someone they miss,the mum they long to be or relationships that are complicated. However you’re feeling today, I’m thinking of you.
Through my job I’ve been lucky enough to meet some truly incredible women. So many of you have become more than clients over the years. Some of you check in on me like a daughter, some of you have been my shoulder to cry on when I’ve needed it, and so many of you have shared your stories wisdom and kindness with me. I feel really grateful for you!
Many of you have also shown that same kindness to my children too asking after them encouraging them and spoiling them with the odd treat or gift and caring about how they’re doing. It means more than you probably realise!
Mother’s Day can also be a hard reminder for those of us who no longer have our mums here in our lives. It’s something that can leave a space that’s never filled and days like today can bring that feeling a little closer which is tough.
If you’re lucky enough to still have your mum, hold onto her hug her and don’t take that time for granted. A mother’s love and the love of grandmothers is one of the most powerful and special things there is.

Grey hair glow-up using L’Oréal DIA Light ✨
My client’s natural grey is absolutely stunning but over time the mid-lengths and ends had picked up unwanted yellow tones from heat and product buildup. Using L’Oréal DIA Light I refreshed the colour to neutralise warmth enhance shine, and bring back that luminous silver tone
