Im a great believer that you shouldn't have to take a second mortgage out to have some time for yourself. Relaxation isn't a "treat". Its a way to recharge. To prioritise yourself for once. Flannels and reusable make up pads are a great eco friendly way of washing your face but how many of you use them then pop them on the side to dry for the morning? Stop it now! Use once and wash. Once that flannel is wet and left, its a bacteria playground. Definitely still keep using them but put them to wash after every use. This is particularly important if a member of your family is suffering with breakouts.

There are so many cheap reusable alternatives that don't break the bank such as bamboo reusable wetwipes. Perfect for using and then washing. If they require a good soak to freshen up stains then you can buy Green Bleach to soak them in before washing. I buy mine from the zero waste shop in Nailsea. Plus being in a hard water area i also pop in some washing soda crystals (bought in any supermarket) to keep them soft and keeps limescale at bay in my washing machine. Soaked overnight in my washing up bowl it also has the added benefit of making my cream washing up bowl look like new.
