Orchard Sauna

We are super excited to say that the fabulous Joss () will be hosting the first Sauna Stories on 1st April! We're hoping that these become a regular event so do show your support :) Everyone is welcome to come and seats are selling fast! Here's some more info:

Sauna Stories at the Orchard Sauna

Step into the warmth of the sauna for an evening of story, ritual, and sensory immersion at the Sauna.

This cosy storytelling night brings together ritualised sauna bathing, ancient folklore, and creative discussions. As heat builds, you’ll be guided through a South West folk tale retold through a contemporary, q***r lens. The experience unfolds in chapters, with plunge breaks built into the structure.

Scented oils will be used during the story, which relate to moments in the tale.

Afterwards, we’ll gather to reflect and discuss the story and its relevance to modern-day Bristol.

About the Storyteller
Joss Affleck is a q***r, Bath-born multidisciplinary performer, artist, and folklorist, and a member of the Orchard Sauna team. Their work blends ritual, ecology, folklore, and audio-visual performance into experimental, participatory experiences.
Joss is particularly interested in q***ring folklore, taking traditional stories and reshaping them to reflect contemporary identities and experiences. Over the past year, they have travelled across the British Isles, Scotland, and Mexico, gathering and sharing rituals and stories of grief from a wide range of communities and landscapes.

Greg (the owner) here! It was super exciting to be featured as a Sauna owner, but probably more exciting that the Sauna itself has got its own page. For me, it's always been about making the best possible space for the lovely people of Bristol to come and relax. It's not about me - it's about you!

Here's a few of our salt water pool! This has been such a hit! Not only is it so easy to get into, it's also temperature controlled so is perfect every time! We've had up to 6 in the pool at one time - so it's super sociable as well!
