Four wonderful clients this afternoon, Mum and her daughters. They arrived without make up which I added then changed into each other’s clothes half way through as they realised just how wrong they were. Much hilarity and joy as they left ‘feeling fabulous’ & agreed it was ‘ the best afternoon ever’. I love my job!!! ❤️😍

We're seeing lots of corduroy around this season and we can use this fabric to our advantage.

The width of the cord is commonly referred to as the size of the "wale" (i.e. the number of ridges per inch).

Jumbo cord provides texture and is ideal for breaking up a long lean column and creating the illusion of curves. There are typically 4.5 wales per inch.

Needlecord is much finer and can have anything up to 22 wales per inch. The vertical lines make this fabric a perfect choice for creating the illusion of height without adding bulk.

Curvy figures will benefit from corduroy with some stretch to it.

Spot the missing colour.

It's black obviously. Except it isn't missing because we don't actually make a black eye liner. You see, black can be ageing, it has the knack of picking out and highlighting those fine lines, as well as looking heavy on the eyes.

So instead, we have developed eight far more flattering shades. But don't worry, they're not a throwback to the 80s. We think you will be surprised how subtle a coloured eye liner is. Certainly our clients are bowled over when they try them.

Sometimes we have to convince 'Softs' (Kylie Minogue) that their colour palette is fabulous, especially if our client is drawn to bright, vibrant shades.

As you can see, consultant Toni from TLC Style & Colour is a similar colouring to Kylie, with very little contrast between her mousey, highlighted hair and skin tone. You will also note that she has an array of stunning colours in her palette. Up close, you will see that these are all muted shades which complement her colouring perfectly.
