Tools for Better Health by Jamie Large

🚗 The motorcycle got its MOT today…
And it got me thinking.
If the garage told me I needed to spend hundreds of pounds to keep my bike safe, reliable, and on the road, I’d find the money somehow.
Why?
Because it’s my vehicle.
It gives me freedom.
It gets me where I need to go.
But what about the most important vehicle you’ll ever own?
Your body.
Most people have no problem spending money on their car, motorcycle, van, or house…
Yet they hesitate to spend less than a coffee a day on their health.
Meanwhile, they’re living with low energy, poor sleep, excess weight, rising blood sugar, high blood pressure, aches, pains, and digestive issues.
I know because I used to be that person.
Nearly 5 stone overweight.
Type 2 diabetes.
IBS.
Psoriasis.
Sleep apnoea.
I was maintaining my vehicles better than I was maintaining myself.
The truth is simple:
Your car can be replaced.
Your motorcycle can be replaced.
Your body can’t.
So let me ask you…
When was the last time you gave YOURSELF an MOT?

Just picked up my Honda Goldwing from its MOT.
Thankfully, it passed with no advisories and only cost me ÂŁ30.
But it got me thinking…
Most of us never question spending money on our vehicles.
We service them.
We repair them.
We replace worn parts.
We buy tyres.
We pay insurance.
We pay road tax.
Why?
Because they’re important.
They take us to work.
They take the kids to school.
They take us shopping.
They give us freedom, independence, and memories.
And if the garage had called me today and said:
“Jamie, it’s going to cost £1,776 to get this bike through its MOT.”
I’d have found a way.
Because I value my freedom.
Yet here’s the crazy part…
ÂŁ1,776 per year works out at just ÂŁ4.86 per day.
Almost exactly the same as the daily cost of the system I use to help maintain my health.
The vehicle carrying me around today is worth thousands of pounds.
But the vessel driving it?
The one that’s carrying me through life, carrying me through time with my wife, my daughter, my family…
That’s priceless.
Yet so many people will spend more maintaining a motorcycle, a car, or a van than they will maintaining their own health.
When was the last time you invested in the one vessel you can never replace?
I’d love to hear your thoughts.
👇 Why do you think people find it easier to spend money on their vehicles than on their health?
