I’ve been unsure about sharing this, but I feel I owe it to my amazing clients who keep our business going and have shown me so much loyalty over the years 💛

About 8 weeks ago, I went to the doctor about a mole that had changed a lot since the start of the year. I’d put it off (as we do), but it became painful and itchy. They were super quick & after having it removed, I expected a letter in the post like usual but last week I was called in to be told I have stage 1 skin cancer.

Thankfully, it was caught early 🙏 Yesterday I had a second operation to make sure everything was fully removed, and I’ve now been told in no uncertain terms I can’t work or drive for at least 2 weeks while I heal.

Honestly, that news hit me harder than the diagnosis itself because my first thought was my clients, their appointments, my business & who I’d be letting down. I’m sure anyone who’s a self employed business owner and a hairdresser at their busiest time of year can relate to the worry & guilt of having to factor in 2 weeks off & the implications of that financially as well as the emotional attachment and that’s the hardest part for me and that’s where my concern lies not with my health or me.
I am so so sorry if this has affected your appointment but this is completely out of my control and I would much rather be behind the chair making you feel beautiful than going through this. ❤️

Anyone who knows me knows sitting still is also my worst nightmare 😅 but I’m reminding myself how lucky I am that this was found early and is treatable 💕

I’m sore but okay, and just need to rest and let things heal properly. I’ll get my final results in the next few weeks and be monitored for the next year. There are people fighting far tougher battles, and I’m beyond grateful this is the best-case scenario 💛
