I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the incredible support, kindness, understanding and care I have received since losing my mum.

I genuinely feel like I’ve been scooped up and enveloped in a cocoon of love and support by my clients. You have helped me immensely and I will never forget how you have made me feel this last couple of weeks ❤️

I’m giving everything I can and want you to feel you are receiving 100% at your appointment. However, it’s important to say, this last week I feel like I’ve been hit by a steam train and I’m struggling with my emotions. Please bear with me. I know this is a process but want to be upfront with you all.

Some of the best ideas don’t come from a lab. They come from listening.

In 1996, our founder Jane Wurwand was on a teaching trip to Japan, exhausted and in need of stillness.

She retreated to Hakone, at the base of Mount Fuji, to rest and reset. On day four, a skin therapist sat her down. No shared language. Just a wooden bowl, a ceramic dish, and a small scoop of powder.

“She ritualistically rubbed the powder into my skin,” Jane recalls.

“My skin felt amazing.”

The ingredient? Rice. Ancient. Simple. Profound.

Jane called Dermalogica’s head of R&D from Japan. What followed was years of development, pairing phytic acid from rice with salicylic acid and papaya enzymes to decongest, resurface, and brighten.

And the format? It had to be powder. A nod to the ritual that started it all.

Daily Microfoliant launched in 2001. 25 Years later, one is sold every 21 seconds globally.
