In Traditional Chinese Medicine, summer is linked to the Fire Element, which governs the Heart, emotions and overall vitality. When there’s too much Heat in the body, it can contribute to symptoms such as anxiety, palpitations, insomnia and mouth ulcers.

Simple dietary changes, like adding cooling foods such as watermelon, cucumber, mint and leafy greens, may help support your body’s natural balance during warmer weather.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we believe the body is connected by 12 primary energy channels, known as meridians. You can think of them as a communication network that links different parts of your body together.

When this energy, or Qi (pronounced ‘chee’), is flowing smoothly, the body is thought to function at its best. But when it becomes blocked, stagnant or depleted, that’s when symptoms can start to appear.

Those symptoms might include things like migraines, digestive problems, bloating, painful periods, muscle aches, poor sleep or low energy.

Acupuncture is used to stimulate specific points along these meridians with the aim of encouraging the body’s natural balance and supporting the flow of Qi.

That’s why I don’t just look at where it hurts, I look at the whole picture.

These symptoms may be common, but they’re often your body’s way of asking for support.

Your body is incredibly good at communicating with you, we just don’t always stop to listen.

Have you ever dismissed a symptom because you thought it was “just part of life”? 💚

Red flags your body is telling you 🚩So many people live with symptoms for years because they’ve been told it’s ‘normal’.
Exhaustion, stress, poor sleep and tension can become so common that we stop listening to them.
Your body is always communicating with you 🤍

If your body was an element, which one are you?

Most people come to acupuncture feeling a little unsure… and honestly, that’s completely normal.
I hear the same worries all the time
“Is it going to hurt?”
“Are the needles big?”
“What if I can’t relax?”
And the truth is… it’s usually nothing like what people expect.
The needles used in acupuncture are incredibly fine, nothing like the ones you might be imagining, and most people are surprised at how little they feel. In fact, many clients end up drifting into one of the deepest states of relaxation they’ve had in a long time.
You’re always in control during your session. You can move, speak, and stop at any time. There’s no pressure, no forcing, just a calm, safe space for your body to slow down.
For a lot of people, it’s the first time in a long time they’ve actually allowed themselves to properly switch off.
And afterwards?
People often say they feel lighter, calmer, clearer… like something has shifted, even if they can’t quite explain it.
It’s okay to feel unsure before trying something new, but it’s also worth knowing that your experience might be very different (and much better) than you expect.
✨ Sometimes the biggest step is just walking through the door.
