Retinol

Retinol is a type of retinoid, that is derived from Vitamin A. There are a number of different types of retinoids and they are available in different strengths depending on the concentration. Retinoic acid (also known as Retin-A or Tretinoin) is the strongest, prescription level retinoid. All other retinoids from strongest to weakest include retinaldehyde (retinal - 11x stronger than retinol), retinol and then retinol esters (such as retinyl palmitate).
