It can be okay to initiate conversations with them. Be a listener and be a friend. Learn which direction to point your LGBTQ+ friends if they need tailored support. 🏳️‍🌈

Referring to someone with the wrong pronouns can be incredibly harmful. Be thoughtful. Pronouns are a crucial point of stress for the trans and non-binary community.

We need to learn and understand how to properly use and normalise pronouns so that our transgender friends can feel seen. Start by adding your pronouns to your email signature or Instagram bio. ✍

(Seemingly) inconsequential changes make a huge difference. Head over to Instagram, add your pronouns and post a screenshot in the comments to show your support!

It's true that changing the way we live is often down to us as individuals, but when it comes to social change, it's not something we can do on our own. 🤗

When making lasting social changes, working together is usually the only way to succeed.

So, work with the people who share your ethics and make your voices heard. 👬 👫 👭

If you've ever said hi to a dog, seen a nature documentary or a picture of a baby otter, you'll know that animals are pretty amazing. They're living breathing reminders that this planet wasn't made only for us. Some of these creatures have been around long before us, propping up vast ecosystems. Lots of them know how to have fun, they feel fear, they suffer. Many of us understand this intuitively, but somehow animal products keep turning up in our skincare. 🐶🐑

Of course, you've been doing what you can. You've been trying to make the correct choices but there are a lot of choices to make. Even with the best of intentions, there is still so much about the ethical impacts of beauty that is swept under the carpet. 🙅‍♀️

Good news for you is, The Body Shop really cares about what's hidden under the carpet, and this isn't our first rodeo. We were born ready for this. We might not be 100% there, but we're on the way.
