Mobility and stretching get thrown into the same category a lot… but they’re not the same thing.

Dynamic mobility is what you want before training: getting things moving, warming the body up, and helping you feel ready.
Static stretching is better after: when you’re trying to ease off tightness and work on flexibility over time.

If you’ve been stretching loads and still feel tight, it’s usually a sign there’s something else going on (which I see all the time in clinic).

Simple way to remember it:
move before, hold after

What I’d focus on if I were training for a marathon…
(Side note: I’m not, you guys are crazy 🤣)

With marathon season coming up, I’m seeing more runners in clinic dealing with things that usually aren’t caused by one specific run, but from training building up over time without enough recovery alongside it.

A lot of marathon training isn’t about doing more and more.. it’s about doing enough, recovering well, and staying consistent.

Recovery doesn’t need to be complicated, but it does need to be there. Sleep, nutrition, rest days, mobility work, and sometimes a bit of hands-on treatment when things start to feel tight or overworked.

Staying consistent is what gets most people to the start line feeling good. Not pushing through and hoping for the best. 🧑🏻‍🦯‍➡️

Working on something new for the clinic 👀

I’ve started training in an additional therapy technique that will soon be available alongside sports massage treatments.

More details coming very soon…

If you’ve never had a sports massage before (or it’s been a while) it’s completely normal to feel unsure about what to expect.

My approach is to take the time to understand you, your routine and your goals, so each session can be tailored specifically to your needs.

Recover 🔄 Maintain 🔄 Perform

After a sports massage, it’s normal to wonder what you should (and shouldn’t) be doing afterwards.

These are some simple guidelines I usually share with clients to help support recovery and get the most from your session. Nothing complicated. just small things that can make a difference while tissues settle over the next day or two.

Everyone responds slightly differently, so it’s always about listening to your body and adjusting accordingly.
Save this for next time if you need a reminder 👍

Sports massage works best when it supports what you’re already doing, not when it’s treated as the solution on its own.

With regular sessions, it can help you stay consistent with training, take a prevention-over-cure approach and improve how your body moves and responds to load 🏌🏽‍♂️

A muscle “knot” is most commonly a myofascial trigger point - a sensitive area within a muscle influenced by the nervous system, rather than a literal physical knot.

Understanding this helps guide how we approach treatment, and explains why hands-on therapy, movement, and recovery strategies all play a role in managing tight or sore muscles.

Now closed for Christmas and will be back in clinic from Monday 5th January 2026🎄

I’ll still be keeping an eye on messages and enquiries, but please note replies may be slower than usual over the holidays.

Thank you so much to all my clients for your continued support this year! Wishing you all a merry Christmas and a happy, healthy new year ✨

December often brings subtle changes in routine, more travel, prolonged sitting, and shifts in training load.

These factors can add up and show themselves as tension or niggles rather than acute injury.

Sports massage can help manage load, ease muscle tension and support recovery through the festive period and into the new year ✨

Recover 🔄 Maintain 🔄 Perform

“What are the real benefits of sports massage?”

I get this question a lot, so here’s a simple breakdown.

Sports massage isn’t just about easing tight muscles. It supports recovery, improves mobility, helps you manage training load, and calms the nervous system so your body can actually switch off and recover properly.

Recover 🔄 Maintain 🔄 Perform

We all know someone who’s been complaining about tight muscles, niggles, or just “pushing through it”.

Whether that’s from long hours at a desk, tough training sessions, physical work, or recovering from an injury 🩹

A Sports Massage gift card might be exactly what they need (even if they don’t know it yet). 🎁

Perfect for birthdays, a little ‘thank you’, or for the super-organised already getting ahead for Christmas!🎄

You can choose from a range of designs, have it sent directly to them, and even pick the date they receive it.
