The 30-second desk reset your upper body needs today. 💻✨ (at work or at home!)

By Tuesday morning, it is incredibly easy to find yourself slouching forward over a keyboard or treatment bed completely on autopilot.

When you hold a forward-flexed posture all day, your pectoral muscles adaptively shorten and pull your shoulders inward. Your upper back muscles have to work twice as hard just to hold you up, leading to that stubborn, burning ache between your shoulder blades.

Take a 30-second break right now to open up your chest, drop your shoulders down, and reset your posture.

I am out of the clinic today and tomorrow, but my hands-on schedule restarts this Thursday. As I am currently only treating clients on Thursdays, these spaces are limited, so let’s get your mobility properly reset before the working week catches up with you.

How to book:

A little mid-week check-in for your feed today. ✨

By Wednesday, it is so easy to find ourselves rushing through the week on autopilot, ignoring the tension creeping into our shoulders and necks.

If you are feeling a bit tired or overwhelmed today, take this as your official sign to slow down, listen to your body, and take a moment just for you.

No hustle today—just a reminder to take care of yourself. 🤍

Thank you so much for the beautiful review, and cheers to many more sessions ahead!

The occupational strain of skin and beauty professionals. 💆‍♀️

Leaning over a treatment bed for hours at a time requires an incredible amount of static muscular endurance.

As an aesthetician or beautician, your workday is defined by sustained, forward-leaning postures. Whether you are mapping brows, performing detailed facials, or focusing on high-precision skin treatments, your neck and upper back muscles are constantly fighting gravity to hold you steady.

Over a long week, this unrelenting mechanical stress starves the tissue of fresh blood flow. The muscle fibres adaptively shorten to cope with the position, leaving you with that deep, burning ache right between your shoulder blades that standard stretching simply cannot reach.

When you come into the clinic, I don’t just chase the spot that hurts. My focus is on unlocking those adapted tissue layers, physically resetting your mobility, and helping your body flush out the metabolic waste that has built up from days of continuous leaning.

You spend your entire week taking care of everyone else—make sure you aren’t ignoring your own structural health.

How often should you actually book a session? 🕒

The answer depends entirely on your daily physical load.

If you hold sustained, rigid postures all week (think aestheticians, dental nurses, nail/lash techs), your tissues adapt, shorten, and restrict localized circulation.

One session won’t permanently fix months of occupational strain.

The Strategy:
🔹For Runners & Athletes: Every 2 to 3 weeks during heavy training to manage muscle compliance and high impact.
🔹For Static Occupational Postures: An initial block of 2 to 3 focused sessions close together so I can deeply decompress your tissue, followed by a maintenance check-in every 4 to 6 weeks to stop the tension from returning.

Note: For clients under 16, a parent or guardian must be present throughout the consultation and treatment.

Preparing for your session: What to wear. 🎽

A common question I get is whether you need to wear specific gear to your appointment.

The short answer is no.

You can turn up in whatever you like—whether that’s your work uniform or everyday clothes—as long as it is easy to change out of before we start.

If you prefer to keep clothes on during treatment:
Just make sure to bring or wear something loose and light.
🔹A vest, sports bra, or loose t-shirt.
🔹Shorts or flexible gym trousers.
🔹Avoid thick denim, heavy sweaters, or restrictive underwires.

For dentists, aestheticians, and lash technicians, chronic static loads cause specific tissue layers to shorten and lock up. Keeping your layers light or clearing the area allows me to precisely target deep tissue, improve localized circulation, and facilitate manual fluid movement without bulky fabric getting in the way.

Note: For clients under 16, a parent or guardian must be present throughout.

⭐️ This client came in experiencing localized discomfort through the shoulder and upper limb—a common issue for professionals managing repetitive static loads throughout the workweek.

Our focus during the integrated consultation and table time was clear:
🔹Identify the exact areas of restricted mobility.
🔹Apply targeted manual techniques to improve localized circulation.
🔹Decompress the tissue to facilitate manual fluid movement and ease the discomfort.

Consistency is key when managing occupational strain. Hearing that they left with noticeable relief and felt entirely comfortable throughout the process is exactly why I do this.

How much is lower back tension secretly limiting your daily movement? 📉

Swipe to see the exact structural shift we achieved in just one targeted session for a client experiencing lower back restriction.

In the first photo (Before), you can visibly see the body stuck in defensive structural guarding. Holding a rigid, high-precision posture all week forces the muscles protecting the lumbar spine to lock down. Notice how the lower back is restricted, forcing the upper back to round just to compensate, leaving the hands stuck inches from the floor.

In the second photo (After), look at the incredible fluidity and depth in the forward fold. By prioritizing deep structural decompression instead of a generic rubdown, we completely released that protective guarding.

Your body shouldn’t feel like a cage by the end of the working week. Because your care should never be automated or rushed, an extended, manual consultation is built directly into your booked table time with me.

Do I need to be an athlete to get a sports massage? 🤔

This is one of the most common questions I hear, and the answer is a massive no. You don’t need to be training for a marathon or playing a sport to benefit from targeted clinical bodywork.

Honestly, the physical strain of holding a rigid, high-precision posture for 8 to 10 hours a day is incredibly demanding on your tissue. Whether you are leaning over a dental chair, working a long shift on a ward, or focusing on a lash set, your muscles are working under continuous pressure.

I’ve even treated teenagers between 13 and 16 who are experiencing upper back tension simply from the static strain of sitting at school desks and studying for hours on end.

When you stay in those fixed positions, your nervous system triggers structural guarding to protect your joints, leading to that deep, heavy ache between your shoulder blades or in your lower back.

To break that cycle, your body requires targeted intervention focused on:
🔹Decompressing deep tissue layers hardened by repetitive daily posture.
🔹Promoting targeted circulation to oxygen-starved muscle fibers.
🔹Manual fluid movement to flush out stagnant metabolic waste.

Every single booking on my calendar includes an extended, manual consultation right on the table so we can read your body’s specific guarding patterns together as peers.

You don’t need to be an athlete to deserve a body that moves comfortably.

Step inside a space designed for high-precision professionals. 🕊️

When you spend your shifts holding intense static loads—hunching over patients or clients for hours on end—your nervous system spends the entire week in survival mode.
The last thing you need is a rushed, chaotic environment or a clinical space that feels like a factory line.

I built this clinic to be an antidote to that workplace strain. I don’t use automated intake forms, and I never rush anyone through their session. Every single booking on my calendar includes a manual, face-to-face consultation built directly into your time with me on the table. We sit down as peers, map out your exact physical blind spots, and target the root cause of your chronic tension.

If you are ready to experience clinical care that respects your body and your career longevity, my calendar is open.
