Hi Everyone 👋

My name is Megan and I am the face behind Lotus Leaf counselling & holistic therapies 🪷

My journey began back in 2008 when I qualified as a beauty and holistic therapist, where for the past 18 years I have had the pleasure of working in various salons and spas across the north & south of UK and at sea for P&O and Princess cruises.

My healing journey began back in 2017 when I completed my Usui Reiki training by Sam at the Chakra room, who I’d first met as a fresh faced 22 year old in 2012. I completed levels 1 & 2 with Sam, continuing on to become a Reiki Master. A very special moment for me and honestly life changing 💗. I’d always felt like a healer, and for me it was destined to be.

Feeling inspired and wanting to understand people on a deeper level I started University in 2018. I graduated with a BSc Hons Counselling & Psychotherapy, and MSc Counselling & Positive Psychology completing my clinical placements at a medical centre and mental health organisation to qualify as a counsellor.

During this time I gained experience as a volunteer for Samaritans and also a mental health charity as a mentor. I then went on to work in education, supporting children with SEMH and SEN and later a domestic abuse charity where I provided emotional and practical support to victims and survivors of abuse, as well as delivering safeguarding training to GPs and clinicians in primary care.

Holistic therapies have always remained an integral part of my life and something I’ve never wanted to let go of. I’m very grateful for the opportunities I have been given in my professional career which has given me valuable experience. However, my dream has always been to have my own collective practice as I believe healing isn’t a one size fits all. Which leads me to very exciting news!

From the beginning of September I will be based at the beautiful where I will be offering counselling & holistic therapies. For those that know me, know this is a long time coming ✨ and I can’t wait to welcome both new and familiar faces into my healing space 🪷.
