Your skincare routine should not stay the same all year round🙌🏽

As the seasons change, so does your skin. Cooler temperatures, central heating and lower humidity can all affect your skin barrier and hydration levels so the routine that worked perfectly throughout summer might not be what your skin needs now.

A few things we recommend thinking about as we move into Autumn:

🍂Switch to a gentler cleanser if your skin is starting to feel tight or dry after cleansing.

🍂Increase hydration by introducing certain ingredients and maybe even consider a richer moisturiser if your skin needs it.

🍂Be mindful of your actives! If your skin becomes more sensitive as the weather changes, using more acids or retinoids isn’t necessarily the answer. Sometimes your barrier needs support instead.

🍂Keep wearing your SPF. UVA is present year-round, even when it’s cloudy and considerably less sunny outside.

🍂Pay attention to how your skin feels. Tightness, flaking, stinging or increased sensitivity can all be signs that your routine needs adjusting.

Small changes now can help prevent dryness and irritation as we head into the colder months, while creating a stronger foundation for healthy skin all winter long and remember: don’t change products just because the calendar says Autumn… change them because your skin is telling you it needs something different.

A different approach to cyst removal👩🏽‍⚕️

This patient came to us with a large cyst on the forehead - an area where careful surgical planning is particularly important!

The original surgical plan would have involved an O-to-Z flap, a technique used to close the wound following removal.

However, after assessing the cyst and its location, Jan was able to take a much less invasive approach.

Using what we call ’The Blemish Micro Technique,’ Jan carefully subcised and removed the cyst through a much smaller entry point, avoiding the need for the larger planned incision and helping to limit the risk of nerve damage and minimise scarring.

The second image shows the area just two weeks after surgery, with no nerve problems following the procedure👏🏽

This is exactly why minor surgery isn’t simply about removing something. It’s about considering the location, anatomy, healing and final outcome and choosing the most appropriate technique for the individual patient💙

This is one of our favourite options for patients looking for a more regenerative approach to facial rejuvenation.
