PLEASE NOTE:-WE ARE A TRADITIONAL BARBER SHOP. THE JOB VACANCY IS FOR A TRADITIONAL BARBER.
WE ARE NOT STYLISTS,AND WE ARE NOT HAIRDRESSERS BARBERING IS A DIFFERENT TRADE AND SKILL ALL TOGETHER
We are looking for, a mature person to work alongside a team of professional barbers.
We are a well established traditional barber shop trading in the Caerphilly area for over 20 years.
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE
welcoming, seating, gowning up, and preparing the client ready for a haircut.
Be able to converse with the client to get a full understanding of the clients needs and services required.
Be able to cut and style with the use of scissors over comb/clippers over comb basic techniques.
Be able to use an open blade razor for shaving is a bonus, but not necessary, if not trained in shaving(training can be given).
Be able to work under your own initiative, and cut hair expected by a traditional barber,( use of traditional tools)
Be able to use a department cash register and take payment off the client.
General cleaning duties are expected as keeping your work station, tools ,and floors clean and clear of hair is paramount.
Our opening hours are:- 9.am until 5.pm Monday to Friday and 8.30.am until 1.30.pm Saturday.we are closed on Wednesdays.
The successful applicant, must have V.T.C.T diploma 3 in barbering or minimum N.V.Q level 2 in barbering, (or you should of done at least 2 years training at a barbers for your papers)We will ask to see proof of paperwork to include you to our insurance ( no papers, no insurance, no work) please bare in mind, if clients want a Wash cut and blow dry they would probably go to a hairdresser, if they wanted a shave, would they go to a bricklayer...? you see what I am saying. another point, we do not do any woman clients at all. so please be aware when applying, it is very male orientated.
