Facial massage and facial acupuncture (often called cosmetic acupuncture or facial rejuvenation acupuncture) are two distinct holistic treatments designed to boost skin health, improve tone, and relieve facial tension, but they operate through different mechanisms.

1. The Body Foundation (Approx. 60 Minutes)
The session almost always starts with the body. By working on your back, shoulders, legs, and arms first, the therapist melts away the baseline physical tension that triggers facial tightness (like jaw clenching or a furrowed brow).
The Goal: Lowering your cortisol levels. When your body relaxes, your blood vessels dilate, priming your skin to get the maximum benefit from the facial work to follow.
2. The Kobido Evolution (Approx. 45 Minutes)
Once you are fully relaxed, the focus shifts to the face, neck, and décolletage. Kobido is famously described as a "dance on the face" or "vascular gymnastics".
Deep Tissue Phase: The therapist begins with slow, deep strokes to release tension in the jaw (masseter muscle) and forehead.
Sculpting & Percussion Phase: The pace changes dramatically. The therapist uses rapid, rhythmic tapping, pinching, and flying hand movements. This rapid movement stimulates microcirculation, brings oxygenated blood to the surface, and wakes up collagen production.
