From Recovery to Reality 🤍 People often see a finished brand and assume it happened quickly.

Trust me, building a brand is not quick.

The truth is, Lykke & Lumen was 12 months in the making before we launched.

What started with burnout and asking myself, “What do I want to do next?” gradually became something much bigger.

Months of research.
Product development.
Testing.
Learning.
Finding the right British manufacturing partners.
Building a website.
Designing packaging.
And more cups of coffee than I can count. ☕🤍

There were moments when it felt exciting and moments when it felt completely overwhelming, but I kept coming back to the same belief:

If I could create products that helped people pause, rest and reset, then it would be worth it.

Looking back, I’m so grateful I took the leap.

Every product has been thoughtfully developed, produced by trusted British manufacturers, and designed to support wellbeing in a meaningful way.

Seeing the collection now reaching customers through wonderful independent retailers, local markets and our online store is something I never take for granted.

Every product at Lykke & Lumen starts with the same question:

Can this help someone pause, rest, reset, or feel a little better in their day?

After more than 30 years in the beauty industry, I knew I didn't want to create products simply for the sake of launching products.

Whether it's skincare, scent, wheat bags or eye pillows, every product has a purpose and has earned its place within the collection.

Of course, the products need to perform beautifully too. But beyond that, I want them to create small moments of comfort, calm and wellbeing in what can often be a very busy world.

Because sometimes the simplest rituals can make the biggest difference. 🤍

The story behind Lykke & Lumen - Épisode 4. The name Lykke & Lumen wasn’t chosen because it sounded beautiful (although I do think it does 🤍).

It was chosen because of what it represents.

Lykke means happiness.

Lumen means light.

Together, they capture everything I hope to bring into people’s everyday lives through skincare, scent and wellbeing rituals.

Not perfection.

Not more things to do.

Just small moments of rest, comfort and renewal.

Because sometimes the simplest rituals can have the biggest impact on how we feel.

People often ask me about the Danish concept of hygge.

The truth is, hygge is about so much more than candles and cosy blankets. It’s about creating wellbeing through simple everyday moments.

A walk in nature.
A good conversation.
A meal shared with people you love.
Taking a moment to pause and breathe.

These are the values I grew up with in Denmark, and they continue to shape both my life and everything I create with Lykke & Lumen today.

The exhaustion.
The overwhelm.
The constant feeling that I just needed to get through one more week.

For years, I kept pushing forward because I thought slowing down was something I couldn’t afford to do.

Looking back now, I see things differently.

Burnout wasn’t my body failing me. It was my body trying to protect me.

It was one of the hardest periods of my life, but it also led me to create Lykke & Lumen and completely changed the way I think about rest, wellbeing and what it means to truly look after ourselves.
